Traded my '65 Valiant for a '66 Windsor

Beautiful car. Nice stance. What are the tire sizes?

Wifey called about a noise coming from her wagon

I removed the axles on my 71 New Yorker without removing brake shoes and hardware. As long as flange separates from backing plate easily the axle will come out. May be difficult if it has never been apart, in which case it may be better to remove hardware.

    Fender skirts

I went ahead and bought the 65 skirts. The trim is different, so the holes for the fasteners are in a different location, but the skirts themselves are identical. I thought they would be but wasn't 100% sure.

Other than trim, are 65 and 66 Chrysler fender skirts the same? Interchangeable ?

    Photo op

It's a 275/60/15 on a 7 " American Racing rim. They should be 8". They came with the car. I'm in Prince Edward County.

I enjoy them all. Right now I drive the Newport the most. It is an original survivor. I have only had the 300 for about a month. The exhaust needs to be changed,it's really loud.

Had them all out today so I thought I would share a few photos. The slabs had the majority so I am posting here. Just got the 66, so there are some changes coming there.

    Rear wheels

Thanks, I'm considering 275's, not 295's. 8" falls within the recommended rim width.

    Rear wheels

I am thinking about putting P275/60/15's with 8" magnum 500's on my 66 300. That is what is on the back of my 67 Newport, so I am assuming they will fit. Is anyone else running this size on the back of a 65 or 66?

    1966 Chrysler tail loght bulbs

Thanks, they are snug, so I didn't want to start pulling on it if it has to be turned.

    1966 Chrysler tail loght bulbs

Thanks, it's not the actual bulb I'm talking about, it is the socket into the tail light housing.

    1966 Chrysler tail loght bulbs

Is the light bulb socket on 66 300 tail light a friction fit into the housing? Or do you have to twist them to get them out? Don't want to break anything. Thanks

Just took her out of the trailer. Not perfect but good enough. Going to have to change a few things like exhaust, and it needs front seat covers. I think it wants magnum 500's on a little bigger tires as well. Lots of things to change under the hood.

    Fender tag

Having trouble finding a good site to decode fender tag on 66 300. Can anyone either share a link or help decipher this tag? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice, star washers are a great idea. Testing will confirm.

Thanks, I will move it up a little higher.

    ECU location

Am I okay to mount ECU in this location with short self tappers? I think there is clearance behind but not positive. 67 Newport. Thanks

    How about headers??

I have them on my 71 New Yorker, they are a good fit. You may want to run a small starter for better clearance. If the joints ahead of the H pipe are in the same location for headers as it is for manifolds, you may be able to purchase that section and it could save having to fabricate it.
