    Ignution condenser advice

There's only one guy you need to contact. The new ignition parts are crappy at best. @halifaxhops

Which Battery to get at Costco

Wal Mart handy? Claros/ Johnson Controls makes many of their batteries. I bought one of their Ever Starts, peeled the stickers and caps off and put a Wescar sticker and cap kit on it. It looks OEM.

Prestolite or Chrysler distributor (visual ID without removal from engine) 318 small block

That's a Cast aluminum Chrysler distributor. I wouldn't buy distributor parts from anyone but Halifaxhops. The sells the old good stuff.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

Nice they are 12 volt and don't need a ballast. Like GM HEI conversions.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

It would be good to hear from some members that have installed a multi spark set up and noticed a difference in performance and/or mileage.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

    Usually multispark until 3000 rpm.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

CD isn't too much different than a good dual point but multispark makes a difference.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

I see Summit has a CD/Multi Spark ignition. Summit Racing SUM-850610 Summit Racing™ Multi-Spark Digital Capacitive Discharge Ignitions | Summit Racing They have the full MSD line as well.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

Multispark is good for our street cars. Multiple sparks at lower rpm (where we spend most of our time at) I didn't know MSD had a Mopar specific box. It sounds like a good idea.

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

Is that also multi-spark or is that the III?

    Electronic ignition for 67 Newport

Pertronix gets my vote as well. A simple replacement for the points and condenser. The Mopar ignition kit has a lot of issues with the control boxes. Many right out of the box.

Correct Voltage Regulator for 1966 New Yorker

You probably got a bad one. The "T" series is a cheaper line. Stay away from those.

    1966 newport 383 over charging?

Boy, no doubt. I changed the regulator on my 66 to a electronic look alike and the sheet metal screws were a bit loose. It didn't take long and the battery was boiling and the light bulbs were popping. Of course the ammeter had been bypassed so the gauge didn't work. A big lesson learned.

Which Pertronix kit are you using?

    Best Electronic Ignition for 383

But the new kits are poor quality. I haven't heard good about the distributors and the modules usually fail in a short time. @halifaxhops has tested tons of failures.

    Best Electronic Ignition for 383

Damn, nice. Yep, Pertronix, simple and effective.

    Best Electronic Ignition for 383

If the original distributor is still good, just get a Pertronix. THey are very trouble free, inexpensive and just plain work. You don't need a MSD type system unless you have a race car.
