    Input Shaft Seal

That's a good point, so everyone's results may vary. PB Blaster might be advisable a week beforehand. In my case, the inners were a breeze.

    Input Shaft Seal

Nicely done. Your tip about removing the inner fender at first SEEMS like a lot of trouble, but it's not. Simply remove the assorted stuff that's screwed to it under the hood (five minutes) and then it's just removing 10-12 fender bolts which is a jiff if you have an air ratchet...

Question about lower control arm and torsion bar

And that shop I worked in had an anvil on a stump. Makes a world of difference you have to pound on something. 50 years later, I'm sure that massive anvil is still in use somewhere....kinda hard to wear one out, and kinda hard to throw away!

Question about lower control arm and torsion bar

Exactly, absolutely correctomundo. This tiny detail is often overlooked, with the shaft nut being tightened with the control arm hanging down as far as it can go. This is an easy, "seems normal to do" mistake to make. Once the car is on the ground at ride height, the rubber in the bushing...

1972 Imperial - Looking for correct Power Brake Booster (Midland-Ross) tandem?

I'm glad my two-month estimate was about right. I think mine was six weeks until it was done and time to pay, and a week for shipping. Your damn mechanic gobbled your M&Ms. He owes you a bag!

1972 Imperial - Looking for correct Power Brake Booster (Midland-Ross) tandem?

Very glad to hear it. Lead time was about 2 months? How were the M&Ms? :)

    Brake experiment

No, sorry, wrong. Putting your thumb on the hose increases the VELOCITY, not the pressure of the water coming out. At that point the pressure of the water is zero. The increase in velocity from that thumb increases the distance that the water sprays. Don't confuse pressure with velocity...

    Brake experiment

Here's your answer, as per Sir Richard Ehrenberg, SAE, Mopar Action, etc. Note that this is for the wheel cylinders, which means that a larger master diameter would make for a similar hydraulic situation. I used these reduced-diameter wheel cylinders when I rebuilt my rears, but I'd be leery...

    Brake Booster Help

That must have been fairly recent. I spoke to Booster Steve in October December 2021 (when he called to tell me my booster was ready to ship) about their future plans of getting into master cylinders and other such services.

1972 Imperial - Looking for correct Power Brake Booster (Midland-Ross) tandem?

Do you still have the old, failing unit? If so, this is your best bet unless you stumble upon a new unit on a shelf somewhere. Home | Power Brake Booster Exchange, Inc. Many, many, many of us have used this outfit. The lead time can be as long as two months, just sayin'. But you'll have a...

Bend torsionbar , problem or not?

First, that's amazing that you've been in the proximity of two bars that suddenly snapped. Remind me not to sit near you at Carlisle! :( As for that bent bar, I very much doubt it's from use. I figger the bar twists about 30 degrees from full jounce to rebound, and that wouldn't cause a...

    Bad power brake booster?

Do you hear a hissing sound when applying the brake? Ruptured diaphragm. You're aware that you can send that booster to Home | Power Brake Booster Exchange, Inc. ? Many of us here and with any other car in the world have used "Booster Dewey and Booster Steve".

1968 Dodge Polara Power Brake Question

Agree. They blast it and get it as best they can, then shoot it. Also, the check valve they put in it is a generic item and incorrect if you care about such things, and it's very important if you need the second smaller nipple for cruise or whatever. I removed my OEM check before shipping.

1968 Dodge Polara Power Brake Question

Here's a BEFORE pic. The "borrowed" unit has been rebuilt by Booster since this pic was taken a year ago and is now on a member's car that was being worked on during the loan period. The borrowed unit allowed me to drive the car for the two months, and once my booster came back, I sent the...
