Tapered axle drum removalbut not the hub

I swapped a complete drum to drum 8 3/4 axle out of a 68 Chrysler Newport into my 61 Fury. Same ratio, drive shaft bolted in, no mods needed, straight up swap. Easy and inexpensive to locate one.

    Master cylinder conversion.

I'm looking for advice and information on converting my single reservoir master cylinder to a dual reservoir. Brake line routing, do I need a line equalizer, any other parts? It's a 64 Dodge D200 with non power drum brakes.

    Need help ID-ing brake drums

The most effective way to resurface a drum is to have them ground at a machine shop rather then cut.

    Need help ID-ing brake drums

If your original drums are in spec on the diameter than have them sand blasted and resurfaced. At least you'll have OEM quality drums. Ends the lug stud issue to.

    65 fury

65 Furys ARE old school. White walls #1, black walls in a pinch. Never RWL on a anything before 1970. Nice wheels, but they do not complement the car.

    Fun with wheel cylinders

Unless the bores on your original cylinders are badly pitted I recommend rebuilding them. The chinese castings are not up to the original standards. Seal kits are easy to find.

    Tire size conversion

My 61 Fury came with 850 X 14 tires originally. I'm stepping up to 15" motor wheel spoke wheels. Does anyone know what 15" tire size will compare to a 850 X 14 tire dimension? Thanks Will.

    ‘67 Monaco LHT wheel studs

A fellow at the shop where I had my front end aligned actually knew what I was talking about when I told him about the left hand thread lugs on my Polara..... Turned out he had a 70 Challenger. Most just give you the "dear in the headlight" look.

    Looking to raise front end

FYI..... Raise the car with a jack before attempting to raise the torsion bar jack screws. It took 3 complete turns on each to raise my 67 Polara 1" But..... It seems you have several other issues to consider before worrying about ride height.

    Tire wheel ID help

Those are excellent wheels to use as replacements for 60's 15" wheels. They were made for use with radial tires, Heavier construction, less flexing, which causes dangerous wheel cover loss. My dad loved his Imperials and switched to Lincolns when the Imperial went away. I remember him getting...

    Stupid tapered axles

Not hard to locate a 65 or later 8 3/4 that will bolt directly in. My 61 Fury has a axle swapped from a 68 Newport. Bolted in. I retained the e-brake on the rear of the trans. No cables.

Can someone tell the name of those rims?

I'm not a big fan of aftermarket wheel/tire combos on a C body, but your car wears those chrome reverse and baby moons well.

    1966 chrysler 300 wheel studs

One of the unique features of older Mopars are the "lefty" lugs on the left side. It's like a badge of honor to me. (it's in the details). If you need all right hand threads, buy a Ford or GM..... :poke:
