    I've stripped and polished anodized trim and had it clear, glossy powder coated. Looks great, lasts forever. The trim needs to be void of any polish/residue before powder coat to avoid out gassing.

    Having three arms helps. A large pry bar and a lot of patients. I'm not aware of a correct procedure, might check the manual. I spent a couple of days getting it right on my 67 Polara.

    I have installed four tops. (Not the old music group). A Sunbeam Tiger, a Karmain Giha, a mustang and a 69 Chrysler 300. The Chrysler was by far the most challenging. I won't be doing that again. Flat rate says 7 hours for a C body. Multiply your trim shop hourly rate by that..... it's worth it...

    I would shop around for a decent used bumper for a driver. But.... If you decide to rechrome, don't mess around. Go to Tri City in Elizabethton TN. The best! Costly but you will be happy. Tri-City Plating Co. Inc.

    I don't think I would use a scotchbrite pad on paint. A soft brush or old towel worked fine.

    I agree Chris. But to all the doubters, I still contend that a good Comet counter cleanser scrubbing and follow up dawn wash will give the same results with a lot less effort. Find a well oxidized, enamel painted panel and try it....:soapbox:
