    I'm scheduled for a heart cath on Monday. That will slow things up a little. Also had cataract surgery on my right eye about 3 weeks ago and will have the left eye done in April. Its been a busy time.

    Here is a long overdue update on Virgils, (61 Fury convertible), restoration. Most is unseen detail but body will finally be completed by the end of the month, Everything is painted but the hood at this point. Some pictures.........

    engine\body ground strap.

    I'm beginning to think there was no body/frame ground strap used in 1961. I find no evidence in reference to one in the FSM or parts book.

    This is a example of a original OEM seat belt including NOS mounting hardware. The correct belt material is called (7 panel). Look close at it. The webbing material is usually available on ebay in many colors although all originals were a tan/brown color. Most trimmers won't stitch new sebbing...

    Belts for your 57 were only available through the factory accessory book over the counter. Placement is where ever is comfortable for you. Originals had a bolt with a loop in the floor with a large washer on the underside. The belt attached with a forged clip.

    I had both side vent window frames and pivots rechromed. It took me 4 1/2 days to reassemble them. Look good though.

    Still at it and gaining ground. Doors and fenders scheduled to be painted in November. Installed the high dollar radiator yesterday. I'll have some updated pictures soon. An upgrade wiped out my picture download capably, gotta learn a new one all over again.

    I've been dragging my feet on the posts for awhile. Lots getting done but not much to exciting to look at. I plan to mate the dash and wiring harness to the car tomorrow.

    Everything didn't go so smooth. The vent hole in the lid of the paint gun clogged and blew off..... the results......

    It took most of the week to strip and prep the dash frame and parts. etched, premiered, painted and cleared yesterday. Ill get busy assembling and installing it after the Battleship show this weekend.

    The paint was good but needed better preparation. I've stripped it to bare metal. and will acid etch the metal and then a acid etch primer. Some filler primer and some more sanding. Then ready to paint and assemble.
