Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

Summit brand turbos and full tail pipes. 2.25 or 2.5" Or if it has to be silent, an OEM type walker

Headman Headers....do they ALWAYS burn plug leads and arc out on the headers???

The Fury once ate a rotor prematurely, somehow the conductor got bent and messed up such that spark scattered at more than idle rpm. Rotor tip doesn't wear out too quick, but I'm not driving 10's of 1000's of miles in it annually at this point. I get years and years of service but that's not a...

Headman Headers....do they ALWAYS burn plug leads and arc out on the headers???

I haven't bought an msd box in at least 15 yrs, maybe 20. Haven't had to replace any, so the vintage I have are good but I can't speak to more recent ones

I tried an msd box and points once, it burned the points out pretty quickly

Headman Headers....do they ALWAYS burn plug leads and arc out on the headers???

Ran headers on the street from 1997-2012 on my fury, had to get the right combo of gaskets and plug wires with a torch dimple and then it was free breathing torque for the win. Only reason I don't have them now is those hair dryers took their place

Headman Headers....do they ALWAYS burn plug leads and arc out on the headers???

Some headers have problems there some don't. Heat with torch, lay a big socket on the tube, and hammer. You'll get a decent dimple shaped as you need. Simple work for all the benefits headers bring.

Has anyone used Summit Turbo XL mufflers?

Have 3" ones on fury. The longer case ones. Per engine masters turbo style really kill power though they do quiet it down. Summit says they kill less power than the name brand

    Best sounding exhaust mufflers

Engine Masters have done some great episodes on pipe diameter and mufflers. It's worth the subscription price to understand what's what before you spend hundreds or thousands on exhaust. And the crappy sounding mufflers did significantly better on power, unfortunately.

    Best sounding exhaust mufflers

I never liked glass packs of any type personally. I like chambered mufflers and turbo style, different reasons to use. The YouTube idea is a good one. 2.5" pipe is probably your best compromise for deep sound but less noise/drone. I have 3" on fury and charger

    Proud of myself.

Exhaust ticks are the worst! Good work. I use just copper rtv on the turbo engine but usually use some gaskets and copper rtv with headers.

Ported and or extrude honed HP exhaust manifolds

You should do what he says and be done with it.

Ported and or extrude honed HP exhaust manifolds

I've used $50 swap meet headers to brand new ones. Your heads needs to be flat, the headers need to be true, then anything works. I've used oem manifold gaskets or the more expensive graphite impregnated gaskets. Put some copper rtv on both sides. No ticking.

Ported and or extrude honed HP exhaust manifolds

If your headers require constant maintenance you're doing something wrong. $800 for 2-10hp is not very cost effective for the average Joe build. It would buy you a set of headers that wouldn't require any maintenance and would improve performance everywhere. And that's been Dyno proven.

    New Yorker 440 Exhaust Questions

On engine masters they've tested some of this and there weren't huge differences in header type. Engine was hotter than a smog big block though

Once again, headers needed for a Fusey

I don't see it as worse than using a donut tight radius bend in a turbo system.
