58 Coronet taking on a hell climb.

Reminded me of 1972's 'The Master Touch' with Kirk Douglas. Car changes back and forth from a Belvedere to a Phoenix, though.

58 Belvedere - where to buy body trim clips

I made some clips for my 300L and discussed here, might be an avenue you could pursue if you get desperate. making some body trim clips (and adjusting the fuel-fill door) - 65 Chrysler 300L

58 Coronet taking on a hell climb.

Driver of that car knows it well, knows how to start the moves early for the turns so the rest of the car catches up nicely. IF they got F&R swaybars there'd be a new learnign curve. (quite the pun)

    Not sure about Vansauto

Be very cautious pressurizing something that large with air. It's designed to hold a liquid, and against head pressure only - not against uniform pressure. That's a lot of surface area, so even a few psi creates a lot of force on the seams. If it fails it also could be catastrophic when done...

Cheapest Automatic Torqueflite Transmission fluid for my 57 Belvedere?

FWIW, I worked at an automatic trans test facility some years ago. When we did a teardown after 1000 or 2000 hours, we could always tell the difference between one that ran Dex and one tested with synthetic. The color of the residual oil was obvious, but so was the condition of the hard parts...

Film and development is cheap nowadays! Get snappin'. :) They don't need to be pro-quality pics.

No data collected and the ebay link is surely dead. Does this car provide any info? NOT MINE - 4-Speed 300J

Do you have a picture-thread on your car on here anywhere? Have you posted it into the 4-speed C-body thread? If not, please do! Love to see as many of these cars as possible.

    1958 300 D with fuel injection, 1 of 21

On the heels of the other EFI thread where I'm trying to get info on my 1959 EFI intake manifold - do you have any contact info for Per Blixt?

    1958 300 D with fuel injection, 1 of 21

I watched an update on Jay Leno's Garage YouTube channel about that car. It has Holley TBI hiding under those air cleaners. I wonder how they got those air cleaners to have good baseplates under there? The originals surely won't work, from the original oval TB to the Holley (which I assume has...

    1955 Chrysler New Yorker Value

On the heels of @saforwardlook, I'd say it's worthy of a low-dollar perk-up, but not restoration. Although it's a coupe with Hemi, it's not a Letter. For instance - There's surely $5000 worth of re-chroming - but how would it look if the chrome was hit with 0000 steel wool? The stainless trim...

    Rear axle interchange question

Rather than change the whole housing, can you change to 65-newer axle shafts? I presume you are trying to get rid of the keyed-flange axles, right?

What was the last car that V.E. had input in?

I think for some of these cars, seeing them now, in prisitine condition, with the right colors and options, makes all the difference. The 61 Polara above is a prime example - if it were a beige 4dr sedan it would be easy to view it as ugly, but the one above transcends that. (IMHO) Even if we...

What was the last car that V.E. had input in?

@saforwardlook These names from the past you're throwing out are getting better. :) (for the audience, a recent name was Dick Goodwillie) :wideyed:

    1954 Firepower Hemi Industrial Engine.

And with a little bit of help with an A-dapter kit, we had that engine runnin' just like a song.

    1954 Firepower Hemi Industrial Engine.

Probably the biggest question - what kind of vehicle would it go in? That might determine what installation options are acceptable. Meaning, whether a home-built fenderless Deuce coupe or an early 50s sedan - might make a difference.

What was the last car that V.E. had input in?

This book is amazing, I'm glad I bought it a few years ago, it is pricey now. The whole book is superb quality and seems as if, way in his childhood, they planned to write it. Many of the photos make me think 'how in the world did they find that picture, and restore it to such modern...

    Factory 1963 300J 4-speed

If you're asking 'where is the car in the factory photo', that car might not have really existed. It could have been mocked up with the shifter handle affixed to something, especially due to those shifters being external to the console, and with a pushbutton delete panel installed. Could've...

    WTF-A Fury camper?

If you look close, looks like still has a trunklid on it, you can see it to the right of the red line. The good fit on it means this was a specifically tailored for this year/make/model - or a custom fit of something else. Good eye to catch that, yes, it's a very specific configuration for...
