    DWELL Question

    I used Vintage Filko point set and USA Condensor, I Gapped the Points . Got 30 Dwell @ Idle and when revved Dwell went down to around 24 Degrees. Car has a slightly rough idle.This is an Original Never rebuilt,Distributor 2642252 on a stock 440. I will start a Private conversation with you .

    Cigarette lighter voltmeter

    I used mine today and got 14.1 V (Revving Eng.) and 12.9 V at Idle.I noticed Amp gauge was charging high while driving.Bat.tested good,Charging system tested low. Any thoughts ?

    My car stalled in my garage today and the key was left on for about three hours.(Points Ign.)The Coil and the Ballast res were hot and the car started up and ran fine.How bad did I screw the pooch ?

I returned it to A/Z .I found a Autoline on Rockauto, Much better Reman quality. I am sure Cardone was a good Reman. but now they reman in Mexico or have New Parts Made in...

    Tune up advice

    In my state TN.(in some counties near Nashville) they have Emission testing only on 1975 cars and newer. No safety inspection whatsoever. It's all about the Money ! Also a Good way to Screw the Poor that can't afford a new car or pay 500.00 for a "Check engine light" code repair.

    Points bad?

    I Run points in my 1960's Mopars and am happy, Points wear out slowly while anything Electronic can Fail at anytime or be Unpredictable. Just Sayin'
