    BEST RADIATOR OPTION

Recore on the existing one will keep the look factory and keep things cool. I think cold case has the best new aftermarket units.

    74-78 Cold Case Radiator Install

Here's a couple pictures of the aftermarket unit in my 74 Fury 400cid. The mounting location and shroud looks identical to my 74 Monaco 360, but I'd need to get this into my garage and drop in one of the factory small block radiators just to double check. The lower tank hose is on the...

    74-78 Cold Case Radiator Install

I'm trying to get my hands on an original 74 big block radiator, I'll let you know if I can scrounge one. In the meantime, I'll cruise by my storage and take some measurements and pictures of the aftermarket cheapo in my 74 Fury III big block (400cid).

    74-78 Cold Case Radiator Install

Back in the summer when I first got my small block Monaco it turned out the radiator was trash. There were no after market units available that fit and I also had a difficult time locating a unit that was suitable for recoring and someone to recore it. I posted in the Cold Case forum and they...

    74-78 Radiator Comparison

I'll check the core/slot count on the original 3692946-59538 tomorrow. The 016946-59538 has been recored with a wider core than it had it reworked and now the core width is the same as the tank. Neither of these radiators had a core that is/was the same width as the tank originally.

    74-78 Radiator Comparison

I've spent a lot of time with my 74 Monaco's radiator so I figured I'd post some stuff in case it was useful to anyone else. I have a 74 Monaco coupe 360. When I got it the radiator core was shot and both tanks were damaged to the point of having cracks. It is labeled 3692946 59538 on the...

    Cleaning up a 74 Radiator

I didn’t think about that. If you’ve ever gotten a radiator recored, how much did it cost?

    Cleaning up a 74 Radiator

Since I struck out on finding anyone who makes a replacement small block radiator for a 74 I bought a used one from the only place I could find one (with no warranty on the core), www.cbodies.com for $100. Shot of the rear of the radiator. Front picture. Hit the spots I could with a...
