    1970 C-body 22" radiator shroud (P/N 2998 330 )

@ayilar Yes, I did have a shroud on the completed job. My problem was trying to find a replacement 26" radiator IIRC. I ended up finding a local place that dipped/repaired radiators. Now I am trying to get the same thing done on my Ambo radiator but that place has closed.

Calling for a Pow wow from the Best and the Brightest - Overheating.

lol......I'm glad I read the entire thread, it was very entertaining. Also was an excellent reminder of the camaraderie we have here that one is hard pressed to find on other forums. We were reminded of a few things as well: - Stan can be provoked to use foul language just like most of the...

Calling for a Pow wow from the Best and the Brightest - Overheating.

You forgot rule #3: If it's not a long time trusted name in auto parts assume it's improperly made. I have seen countless times when a 'new' brand comes out and claims their product is a perfect fit and it is anything but that. My water pump is my most recent example......has raised areas...

Calling for a Pow wow from the Best and the Brightest - Overheating.

He can easily check that by feeling the upper hose......if the stat isn't opening the hose shouldn't get hot, maybe lukewarm but they don't normally conduct enough to make it hot to the touch w/o the flow. And yes, I know i'm real late to the party on this one and it's prob fixed...

    Overheating problem with Madeline

that's ok, shouldn't lose much removing them anyway. Naturally you guys didn't bother ragging on that on spite until after i had it back together! At least i am doing what I usually do - leaving the car in better condition that when I got it. Maybe i'll let it for the new owner to replace.

    Overheating problem with Madeline

it stays pretty much in the middle or slightly below the middle. Dunno what temp that is as the gauge does not have numbers on it, prob between 180-200 if i had to guess. I haven't taken any pics of it, but here's what i did: ran the housing across a pc of sandpaper like Matt suggested. I...

don't know abt that........kinda flip flopping, i want to somewhat, but on the other hand I have a basically unmolested car, most of the time that would command me to leave as-is. and then there is the problem of finding linkage and the correct column. what shape is your console in?

    Overheating problem with Madeline

no, the cheapest i ever saw it list for was $6000......and apparently he is in for a surprise if the current owner is still lying abt 'not seeing any frame rust'. Maybe he has never looked under the car. He knows exactly what it looks like underneath though, he saw that pic on the dock. I...
