    Superseded Part Numbers

In my experience there are at least three older Chrysler Parts suppliers that have that kind of information if you have the original part number to begin with. Marty at Arizona Parts can usually help who is also a member on this site, Deception Pass Motor parts and AMSnos.com as well. Marty...

    Seat trim

Bob Baker at ABC Moparts has had some major problems getting his plastic molded products made for about a year now...............his only supplier dropped him in order to make less intricate parts in much higher volumes that would give the supplier higher profits with less energy (I understand...

Herb's Parts - Need Interior Color Paint

I would suspect that over the years and exposure to sun, the shades of the various parts have faded/changed but that the original interior was usually pretty uniform. I am mostly familiar with the fuselage vehicles and those generally were uniform in color so you might want to give them (Mike)...

Herb's Parts - Need Interior Color Paint

They are available at this link: Herb's Parts: C-BODY I am not sure why you are asking why another company might have purchased them? Herb's paints are a subsidiary of AMS Obsolete parts now, probably the largest supplier of nos original Chrysler parts in the world. If you want a really rare...

    73 Monaco wagon

Given that very distinctive front end on the 72-73 Monacos and in the case of the 73's especially, those big rubber guards kind of give the front ends that "don't mess with me" kind of aura that is similar to, though not nearly as evil as today's Hellcats that give that image in spades! No cars...

I know that opinions vary but in my case, I personally prefer seeing the bumper guards on the front of the cars.

That is the going price these days for a really good recore with a high efficiency core - you get what you pay for. $150 cores might work OK in Alaska.

    1972 Imperial Revival Thread

Progress is always rewarding. Just wondering, is that a 26" radiator or a 28" one? I am just asking because the factory setups seem to usually have thin rods across them for added stiffness I believe with the 72 and 73 models at least as I recall with the 28" versions that were standard with...

    1972 Imperial Revival Thread

A Holley 4160 when new did run better than an AVS Carter carburetor. It had a stronger accelerator pump shot and a richer off idle flow curve. The problem with the original 4160 Holley was that they didn't last more than a couple years of normal driving before giving driveability problems due...

    1972 Imperial Revival Thread

Those 4160 Holley carburetors were notoriously bad. 1972 was the last year Chrysler used them - for good reason. The metering blocks warp over time (about 20K miles). Most rebuilders won't touch them. You would be far better off with a new/modern comparable Holley 4 bbl. The current ones...

    Power steering pump mount.....nutz

I would personally suggest never using anything rebuilt by Cardone - their rebuilds are junk to say the least most every time I have tried one. Never again. Any other rebuilder would probably be significantly better..............................

    Power steering pump mount.....nutz

Yes, I agree with you that nowadays there is likely to be a hole worn in the pivot point of the bracket that makes this setup a problem in the long run unless they had strengthened that pivot point somehow in the design. Personally, I would rather replace a couple belts rather than deal with...

    My '72 Dodge Polara project

Even though the fender tag does look like it says L35 (cornering lights) I am not seeing the cutout on the lower part of the front fenders to accommodate them. Also, even though the trunk lock/cylinder has been removed, you can still insert a flat, fairly small head screwdriver through lock...

1971 Fury GT, Gold, Promo Car

Personally I believe it is wise to replace brake lines that old even if they look OK from the outside. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorb moisture from the outside air and over time causes rust to occur inside the lines that isn't seen by looking at the lines externally - i.e. they...

    1970 B5 Sport Fury GT...Critters folly....back to basics

Yes, ABC Moparts will reproduce the original door pulls for you if you send him the old cores. Unlike any of the others who have tried to reproduce these, Bob Baker there is the only one that has succeeded in making exact reproduction ones, just like factory. The 70 Sport Furys used the...
