    Timing chain/gear?

I recently worked with Raymond at Halifax Hops because he had a rare distributor that I needed for one of my cars and he also had the nos Chrysler ignition parts that I also wanted in both my distributors that he did for me. Just outstanding service and very easy to work with and provides some...

    My New Bus!

This person (Adam) on You Tube highlights truly notable cars and he also made a video highlighting the 300L and its outstanding design. I enjoy his videos as they are usually very down to earth in terms of presentation, well researched in terms of their accuracy and I agree with a lot of his...

    My New Bus!

Wen I first saw those lenses in your visuals of the car I wondered why New Yorker lenses were on such an otherwise original and very nice car. For me, that car looks so nice that I would put the red lenses on it only because seeing those on the car suggests "unoriginal" and your car looks far...

    My New Bus!

The voice doing the talking sounds like Bob Merritt of the Chrysler 300 Club International, Inc. Looks like he still has a 300F in the garage that also must be very nice. You did very well and if that is indeed Bob, he is a technical consultant in the Club so he very likely knows his...

    My New Bus!

The 300L is one of my favorite models but like you, if I am ever to get one it has to already be done this time. Congratulations!!

    Suggestions, looking for new radiator

An extra row of tubes usually only helps with higher speed driving conditions but if your cooling problems are mostly slow speed city traffic related, then what matters most is the width of the radiator much more than an extra row of tubes.

    Suggestions, looking for new radiator

Glen Ray radiators are now about $1000 for a high efficiency core 26" wide version. The 63 300s didn't have 26" radiators from the factory so your core support opening would need to be widened to make good use of one of that width. Glen Ray usually takes your original top tank and builds a...

    Hit and run!

Hagerty is a very large and well run company in my experience. Their agents are quick, smart and always cheerful and nice to talk with. They also have a Drivers Club magazine option if you wish and it is also has very well written articles of interest to older vehicle owners such as ourselves...

    Hit and run!

I know a guy that uses Hagerty insurance and he has had this happen to a couple of his cars often parked on the street in front of his house. No police report or any other fees - they just took care of it. I know of at least one other person on this site who has had a bad experience with...

    1963 300 Help Decoding a Tag

Thanks for the clarification that the Pacesetter models did apply to two door hardtops as well then. For convertibles, the 300 round emblem on the front fenders for that series, seemed to be a hallmark of that series but apparently it was only placed on the front fender on convertibles since...

    1963 300 Help Decoding a Tag

If it were a J letter car, I believe the VIN would start with an 84, not an 80. I also do not believe this car is a Pacesetter, as that would have been a convertible only in the 1963 model line up to my knowledge. I believe it is a regular 300 hardtop. Here is a photo of what the original...

    new fuel sending unit ugh!

They gave me no explanation as to what they changed. All I know now is that the several recent tanks/senders are reading correctly. I really doubt that changing the float arm will fix anything but rather just make the constrained range reading occur in another segment to the fuel gauge needle...

    new fuel sending unit ugh!

I have recently bought 3 new fuel tanks and sending units, etc. from Vans and every one of them reads accurately. I did get on them a year or two ago about why they couldn't get the sending units calibrated correctly and it appears they have solved that problem. Very accurate at least now. I...

    Maiden Voyage-It liiives!

Your new ride seems like it looks like my favorite 300L that I have seen so far...................................... Your car could look "killer" too in the future it seems. Best wishes with the fixing up! These were great cars..................................

    QUIET mufflers??

So Ayilar, did you choose the 2 muffler system for your Monaco, i.e. a regular muffler plus a resonator? When you are cruising down the highway, can you describe what you do hear - i.e. do you still hear each cylinder combustion event very muted or just a single muffled tone that doesn't...

Good day, new member here... 1st time posting a pic, hope it works...

From my point of view, most Forward Look authorities include Forward Look cars beginning with the 1955 models and ending with the 1961 models. Due to health problems, Exner lost control of the styling department at the time the 1962 models were being designed and the styling department was in a...

A Competitve Make of Interest in the Slab Side years

Well, at least the black one that Fury Pursuit highlighted above has had the rear springs replaced during its restoration. The white one looks like the rear springs indeed have at least 200K miles on them, which it does, making it look like it badly needs to take a dump (of fuel of course!)...

A Competitve Make of Interest in the Slab Side years

I agree with your comments generally and for example, while I really like the 66 Rivera in terms of style, driving one at a GM dealership back then when my dad was considering buying one, I was very disappointed. The engine felt weak, the suspension even on the Gran Sport model didn't feel firm...

A Competitve Make of Interest in the Slab Side years

While I like the Wildcat too, I like the 66 Rivera probably the best of all the GM cars ever................................................. While these cars were being built when Chrysler was doing the slab sides, I felt many of the mid-60s GM cars were already presaging the fuselage look...
