4 post lift people...need some measurements...

I'm working on getting my manual lock system built on my "Cheap, beat, rusty, dissembled and parts missing" 4 post lift I picked up last December and was wondering if anyone would be willing to grab a few measurements for me off your lift. Took me almost 2 months to get the 3/8 and 1/2 round...

Went for a cruise in the Coronet....

Over our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend I finally had a chance to take my Mother In-Law out for a cruise in the Coronet....I'd promised her back around Mothers day that I would but weather, work, holidays and schedules never aligned to make it happen. Beautiful day for October and...

What did you do to your C-body today....

Being 6'8" tall the waxing of the cars has always been hard on my back but this year I discovered how great a lift is for waxing the car! I can now just adjust the lift so I'm always working at a nice comfortable height for every panel on the car.

    Nos bumper guards

Are there no numbers inside? The short fat ones make me think maybe from a 50's car?

    Tool tips

Was working on my son-in-laws 1st gen cummins truck with him a week or so ago and we were trying to get the front 4wd manual locking hubs off, there are 6 small allen head bolts counter sunk to be flush with the surface used to secure them, I got 5 of them out and of course the last one fought...

I've used a chunk of cheap white bread stuffed in the line to hold the water back while getting the fittings soldered, once done the white bread just disintegrates in the water line and all is well. ;)

    Tool tips

If you are draining a radiator and as usual find the fluid just runs everywhere but into the bucket you can use a big piece of aluminum foil to fold and make a nice form fitting catchment panel/funnel and get the fluid to run nice and clean into your pail.

    68 300 with a non 440????

You are correct the 400 will be externally balanced which would require the proper weighted torque converter, or the use of the B&M counter weighted flex plate to make it work with the stock 68 torque converter.

    68 300 with a non 440????

Just build the 400 like a 383 and you'll have loads of fun with it.

    People with 4 post lifts...

The safety lock release system on my lift would have been mechanical, pull a lever to move the locks out of the way so the lift can come down. I do not have any parts or pieces for the system so will have to fabricate everything myself. As for what I modified nothing that would impact the...

    People with 4 post lifts...

Finally got the 4 post lift I picked up last December cleaned, repaired, modified and assembled last week and it's going up/down! But I still need some ramps and to fabricate the safety lock release mechanism system, would appreciate some pics of the release mechanisms on your lifts to draw...

Is asking for the VIN/Data plate considered sketchy?

I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for the VIN, at least the first 7 digits, they can cover the remaining numbers with something in the pic. As for data plate absolutely especially if you are looking for a specific car with particular options, again they can cover over the numbers that...

    Got them moved to Fresno!

I'd never use another U-haul trailer unless I had no other option, those surge brakes are just dangerous IMO! And coming down any type of serious grade through the mountains at a speed more than 25mph is a near death sentence since the surge brakes don't help at all and you have only the...

    Another road trip in Patches....

Guess I've been a bad influence on my soon to be Son-in-Law since he's been around me and my 1984/93 1st gen cummins W350 crewcab. He decided recently that he wanted a 1st or maybe a 2nd gen Cummins truck so he has been trying to find one within his budget, and I have been looking as well...

What did you do to your C-body today....

Looks great! Is this a power disc or drum brake car? That is a drum brake master cylinder and shouldn't be used on disc brake models. ;)

Are you only looking for cars that came from the factory with a 4spd, or are converted cars eligible as well?

What did you do to your C-body today....

Looking good! The thing with the TQ's is the set-up...I will spend 2 hours making sure every adjustment is perfectly within spec...makes for a much smoother and reliable carb, and makes the on motor adjustment that much easier as well.

What did you do to your C-body today....

I doubt you will notice much of a ride difference. When I had my 70 Sport Fury I rebuilt my own rear leafs from a couple different sets, picked thicker and heavier individual leafs and added an extra leaf while I was at it...so basically a 6 leaf HD set-up. Car went from a bit slushy in the...

My Challenger, I have to vent

That sucks! My daughter had someone drive over the front drivers corner of her 88 Aries K-car...big pickup pulling out of a parking stall. Thankfully they left a business card on her windshield and several people saw and heard it happen, dragged her car about 3 feet into the next parking spot!
