Yes, that is the correct switch for tilt column with cornering lights. The knob for the hazard is removed from the old one with a Phillips screw.

That is the switch for a non tilt column.

Then Rock Auto has your switch in stock.

If your New Yorker does not have cornering lights, you can still use the switch with cornering lights. This is just a separate plug that goes on the end of the contact board.

So going back to my original post, if the stub frame from a 1972, 1973 will interchange, it could be a win, win if he uses the newer ones. His car, his call. Hate to see someone go through the same thing, and parts are way harder to get 50 years later.

Just remember, the switches are different between a standard column, and a tilt column.

There is a mounting bracket on each side at the rear. It is held in by four screws. This bracket is what the skirt retaining screw goes into. If it warms up, I will take some pictures for you.

How fast do you need them? I am changing my Newport over to fender skirts, but won't be able to do it until spring.

The ones I used came from Rock Auto. Around $55.00 each, and one piece design.

You can also use 1969 thru 1972 spindles. They use the same size wheel bearings as the drum brake cars.
