I am sure once it is all finished, he will be doing some left lane driving. A 1969 Imperial has a great road feel at 120 mhp. (I know).

76 Lincoln wheels for imperial 67-73

They might look good, it's hard to tell. One thing to keep in mind, Ford products have a smaller wheel center than Chrysler products. Even thought the lug spacing is the same, the wheel still may not fit without some machining work.

    Loose timing chain diagnosis----1962

With engine off, set timing mark to zero, remove distributor cap and rotate crankshaft counter clockwise until distributor starts to move. Note movement of crankshaft. If it is more than 10 degrees you have a stretched chain or bad camshaft gear.

1972 Imperial Tilt Column - Help!

The problem you discribred is pretty common but it does have to come apart to repair. Good thing about being a dealer mechanic in the 70's and 80's is I have done at least 500 theft repairs.

1972 Imperial Tilt Column - Help!

Taking the column apart is not a problem EXCEPT to when you get to the pivot. You will need a special tool to remove the pivot pins. These have to be removed to get to the lock mechanism. Getting ready for work but send me a PM with your number and I will talk you through it later. Bill

    1971 Imperial HELP!

Sounds like you have a break in the ignition "Run" circuit going to the ballast resistor. Turn the key to the run position and check for voltage on the blue wire going to the resistor. If dead, check the ignition switch, and wire from the switch to the resistor.
