Engines available in a '70 Newport.

I am aware of the Newport 440 model, but it does not appear in the Data Book. All through it only the three engines I mentioned are listed for Newport. However, the letter you posted is from December 1969, several months after this Data Book was written. The 440 and 300 Hurst were later...

    Booster Woes

Suggestions needed for a quality new power break booster source. A local mechanic said AutoZone is good, another said Rock Auto is fine. I want a quality booster that will last. Backstory: I sent the one off my 1970 New Yorker to the rebuild place in Washington, but they wanted $705.00!!! I'm...

    66 Sport Fury-From The Beginning

...way for new exhaust. Still waiting for the remainder of the trim to arrive from the polisher. And we just bought a brand new chicken coop...... ***Almost 4 years later, a bunch of phone calls, visits, and text messages and the mechanic has finally started working on my car. I'm not gonna...

    How to remove headrests?

Thanks. I thought they just pulled out but I get quite the resistance. I'll do what Big John suggested. My parents bought a '71 Toyota Crown (Yes, I was fully embarrassed!) new. I liked what the front seats on it had. There was a "button" formed into the vinyl fabric of the seats on the...

    Front Dash speaker removal/recommendations...

Are you using the original radio? It needs to be an 8 ohm speaker. Getting an original speaker reconed is a good way to go. It will fit the car and sound like new.

    1966 IMPERIAL | WINDOW MOTORS

Thank you everyone for all the advice! I will plan to service the motors and regulators. After reading through the "Power Window Motor Repair" thread, I am sure this is my problem. One last question, will the window motors from a 65 work on my 66? Did they use the same motors? I ask because I...

'67 C body production info aka "How many?"

Couldn't be anywhere near 10,000 as less than 5% had manual steering. With 92K Newports made that year, that means less than 5000 had manual steering. Add the fact that over half (62%) had A/C and his car doesn't, and only 6.2% had disc brakes, and that this car has a 440 instead of the standard...

NOT MINE 1973 Plymouth Custom Suburban Station Wagon up for auction on BaT

Oh, oh. I can't wait to put up a showcase with how this one turned out. bought in 2019, TNT car black interior, console. This one is still languishing. Bought it in 2019 too, but its back in the warehouse collecting dust (pandemic schedule casualty). I bought it BECAUSE it was "green"...

61 Dart Seneca Steering Column/Turn Signal Issue

If you have the steering wheel on and in it's keyed position, and is down within 1/8" of the housing, it is on as far as it will go. How about this........Are you sure the snap ring on the shaft is in its place? Maybe the shaft is not down far enough in the column. Did you take it apart?

    Front Dash speaker removal/recommendations...

Your best option would be to get your OEM speaker re-coned. Any NOS speaker's cone will be as old as our car, which means it will fail sooner than later as the paper in the cone has dried-out and become more brittle with age. There are some speaker re-coning services which have been mentioned...

    Front Dash speaker removal/recommendations...

Hey, I need to swap out my front dash speaker on my 1965 Imperial. It is original to the car, (as is the rear speaker). It does work but, not well. It pops and crackles baldly with all the low end frequencies -bass and kick drums do not play well out of it ... the rear speaker function is...

NOT MINE 1973 Plymouth Custom Suburban Station Wagon up for auction on BaT

gotcha chief. I aint a "fan" of "green", but that would NOT stop me from buying a vintage car that otherwise meets my requirements. I have had many, cars AND trucks, but especially trucks. but only like the "forest greens" I admit. I'd rock the creme body/green interior too. the moss...
