    Front Dash speaker recommendations...

Your best option would be to get your OEM speaker re-coned. Any NOS speaker's cone will be as old as our car, which means it will fail sooner than later as the paper in the cone has dried-out and become more brittle with age. There are some speaker re-coning services which have been mentioned...

    Front Dash speaker recommendations...

Hey, I need to swap out my front dash speaker on my 1965 Imperial. It is original to the car, (as is the rear speaker). It does work but, not well. It pops and crackles baldly with all the low end frequencies -bass and kick drums do not play well out of it ... the rear speaker function is...

NOT MINE 1973 Plymouth Custom Suburban Station Wagon up for auction on BaT

gotcha chief. I aint a "fan" of "green", but that would NOT stop me from buying a vintage car that otherwise meets my requirements. I have had many, cars AND trucks, but especially trucks. but only like the "forest greens" I admit. I'd rock the creme body/green interior too. the moss...

NOT MINE 1973 Plymouth Custom Suburban Station Wagon up for auction on BaT

New car color choices are such as they are because of the lack of choices. The color is the most important piece of the car to me on old Iron after model and make. I don't buy cars with green in their color scheme.

pictures of my harmonic balancer - advice?

I'll disagree about the condition, but it's up to you if you think you can use it. I do think that marking it is very good advice. Thinking on it, if it does fail, it's probably just going to turn. I'd keep an eye on it though. You'll never get that type of comment here.... Or if you do, it's...

1969 Fury I turn signals were slowing down now dont work

I'm not understanding the "relay for turn signals" part of this. Wiring in a relay for the turn signals because of a "high draw" makes zero sense. The incandescent bulbs, lets' say three were 1 in the front and 2 in the back would only have a draw of just over 6 amps for all three. A typical...

I have a chance maybe to buy a junk '57 Imperial convertible

wow. i would advise you not to get it. for the $ & time you will spend on it i think you could get a really good one for less with alot less stress & frustration. but ive wasted alot of time & $ on poor car "investments" so take that with a big pinch of rust.......

New guy needs a little help

From what I've read, yes, the Wilwood stuff is supposed to be much better than Leeds, but IMHO, the best bang for the buck with the least amount of screwing around is using later Chrysler parts. Actually, IMHO, the whole "must convert to disc brakes" is a money trap.

I have a chance maybe to buy a junk '57 Imperial convertible

Oh boy, it is a parts car at best unless you have 100,000 plus to restore. But, price is relative to all.

What are you working on today??

2004 Beetle fuel pump. Clean car, promises to be a pain in the butt to keep in service.

I thought they had good reviews about their products. Are the wilwood products any better?

1969 Fury I turn signals were slowing down now dont work

I’ve had grounding issues at the tail light . The metal tail light sockets can become loose or corroded due to moisture getting past the tail light gasket between the plastic lens and the metal back of the tail light assembly. You might wanna take this opportunity to remove the tail lights from...

New guy needs a little help

Sorry, you aren't going to like my answer, but whatever... From what I see, reading here and other places, the Leeds kit is undersized for the C-body and then there's the GM based off shore built booster and master cylinder that never seems to fit without some drama. We've had a couple guys...

NOT MINE 1973 Plymouth Custom Suburban Station Wagon up for auction on BaT

i didnt pay attention to the underlying data (i am at work). it looked familiar to the US market to me in that color variety was more prevalent 50 years ago. when left OEM car biz 15 years ago, that color variety was gone. today's preferences may have same, or even disproportional (even...

pictures of my harmonic balancer - advice?

1970; showed the balancer to my mechanic (also a drag racer) and he said it wasn't that bad and that I could reuse it. He said to mark the inner and outer metal rings to see if the marks moved out of alignment with time. I'll probably get some comments like "why don't you just replace or rebuild...

NOT MINE NOT MINE 300 Hurst

It's my opinion that the convertible is a Hurst car. If you think about it, that car was built (I believe) before the production cars were and was built by Hurst, not copied or cloned by someone in the field. So, while not a production car that was available in a dealership or as an option, it...
