I have my choke hooked to the feed side of the ballast as well. It seems to work just fine. No reason to cover the choke well hole in the intake. It's just a cavity.
What manifold have you decided to put on your car - show us a photo since to my knowledge, you will need to change it to one that will accommodate the AVS2 carburetor? Show us a photo please.
I did try them, they were bigger than the size stated. No I did not drill the hole, I did try the black ones too. they were not flexable enough for the trim to get put on. So still searching for something that will work. The search continues!!!
I have a replacement engine wiring harness from Evans wiring, it has an extra female spade connector where the 12v ignition connects to the ballast resistor, conveniently located for my installation. It can be connected to any switched 12v.
