General Information
This car was originally leased to Boswell Minerals October, 1966 from Renfrew Chrysler in Calgary, Ab. Canada.
My grandfather then bought it as a lease return and it became my grandmothers.
As far back as I can remember, grandpa always parked it in the winter and had a military style canvas tarp that he put over it.
Even when they stopped driving it, the tarp was only removed when it was fired up every couple of months or so.
When I was a teen, grandpa had the motor and transmission rebuilt to bring it back to life.
It was then sold to my father to carry on the restoration as it had started to show its age.
Dad had the car for several years before he was unable to continue working on it.
It then sat again for several years until I was able to have the room to work on it.
It still has the original 383ci V8 Commando mated to an automatic transmission, but Dad had installed an Edelbrock intake and 4bbl carburetor to squeeze those extra horses out of hiding.
The black vinyl roof was removed to fix some rust that was starting to form underneath and then painted to protect the metal until a new vinyl roof can be reattached.
The whole car used to be the silver as in the pictures. Dad had added the black on the horizontal surfaces but I am not sure if I want to go back to full silver or keep the black as it is.
It is now on my shoulders to bring it back to life once again and share it with others.
