Flip Flop

Turning a 70 Chrysler 300 into the infamous Chrysler 300 Hurst convertible by using a real 70 Chrysler 300 Hurst

General Information

I'm excited to start my new project. I'm turning a 70 Chrysler 300 convertible into the infamous 300 hurst convertible, using all the drive train, body panels etc. to recreate this iconic car from an actual 70 Chrysler 300 coupe hurst. Why would I cut up an actual hurst to recreate the convertible Hurst? Boredom .... lol
and I just want a one. I already have a 69 Chrysler 300 convertible w/floor shifter and a 68 Chrysler 300 convertible.
Wish me luck and stay tuned for build updates. Big thank you to Jeremy Orth for the seriously straight 70 Chrysler 300 convertible. I would like to in courage everyone to block out their critics and build the car YOU WANT!

Latest updates

Breaking down my 69 Chrysler 300 "Ghost" rebuilding the original 440 engine in this one but the 70 Hurst build will get the Hellcat power plant.

Restoring my 69 Chrysler 300 (white car) and flip flopping a 70's 300 hurst coupe (parts car) into a 70's 300 Convertible Hurst (blue 70's 300 Convertible) featuring a Hellcat engine swap. Collaborating with PMT Fabrication to build a custom set of upper & lower control arms so I can run a Ridetech air ride system on the hurst convertible... This will be the ONLY 300 hurst convertible with original Hurst hood, deck lid wing and complete interior swap featuring a Hellcat engine. This is gonna be bad azz build that I have been blueprinting for a few years. I own my own hot rod shop which makes this big project possible.
Stay tuned!

The white convertible in the post... what year and what are you running for wheel and tire sizes (backspace?)? I like the look AND I'm trying to figure out the max tire sizes (mainly the rears).

Anthony Lane. Best of luck with your 300 H Convertible tribute. The real 300 H was at the 2016 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals show. Very rare indeed, technically a 1 of 1. FYI, the hood pins on the real car are from an Oldsmobile. Remember to NOT have more in the project than it's worth. Please keep us updated on yours.

I've seen the one from the factory several times it's cool. I'm gonna have a more powerful 440 and a EFI setup. Basically a modern version of it. Just a fun project for me to be creative with.
Thank you!

ever consider putting a four speed with hurst shifter in it? there's something brutally animalistic about shifting a 440 with a pistol grip. critics? f.t.w. paint it black! three stars, five stars when it's done!

Hi, your right on with my thinking
. I have a Kilduff slap shifter, I will be using that has a brass knuckle grip.

Awesome project!
I bought the 70 300 Hurst from an estate sale and was supposed to get the title with it. Well they never produced the title so I came up with the "Flip Flop" idea when I saw the blue 300, floor shifter, convertible for sale last week. I guess it all fell into place by the grace of a higher power.

This car is a 300 Hurst. 300 H is a 1962

Tony, I need the cardboard package tray cover with speaker perforations for my 70 Newport. Also looking for the dash shell with stereo speakers on the right and left sides and regular speaker in the center. Any chance you will have those after you sacrifice your coupe?
