I need a new 3/8 NPT, ½ inch hose fitting for a 1973 small block intake manifold. If anyone has one would you please contact me. Or if you have a source that is reputable, I would appreciate that information.
I bought one on eBay only to find that a brand-new ½ inch heater hose rattled back and forth on it because the hose fitting was not ½ inch wide. Yes, I contacted the seller and explained the problem. The guy actually asked for picture.
For anyone who is saying, Chrysler heater hose are 5/8 inch, Chrysler put a restrictor fitting on the heater valve for 1973 so that the hose from the intake to the heater valve is ½ inch. We could debate the wisdom of this, but I assume it has something to do with keeping coolant in the heater core longer so that it heats up faster.
