1937 Chrysler Imperial
C-14 Model, 4 Door Sedan
8 cylinder engine with a 3 speed standard transmission
39,101 miles

Black exterior with off white broadcloth interior, and banjo steering wheel. Original headliner intact. Exterior restoration approximately 15 years ago. Original wheels and hubcaps. Car runs but needs brake work. $9,500

You mean they're not injection molded plastic?
 
To this day I am still amazed those dashes were done by hand.
There were two methods of applying the wood grain to metal back then. One was the use of special hard rubber rollers with the grain engraved into them and applied with ink over a painted base, (still takes a lot of talent to apply), and some were thin film overlays applied to the metal surface. Both were clear lacquered.

There are some that were hand applied, (painted), but it was too labor intensive for production, even then.

These days there a very talented hand & airbrush artists who do very nice work.
