For Sale 1960 dodge polara convertible - $40000

It appears I should clarify what I meant by "I understand..."

I don`t know these two cars, I follow them because I`d like to buy one, what I wrote is what I heard from a fellow in California, met him at a wing car reunion in Alabama a while back.

He owns two 1960 Polara convertibles, one a D 500, he states the black car has a vin from a 1960 4dr Polara built in Belvidere, CA, no D 500 convertibles were built in California.
If you can find a pic of the dash, the dash knobs are wrong for 1960 on the black car, so is the turn signal lever.

The blue one is undergoing a transformation as well, no longer advertised for sale.

The turn signal lever does look suspicious for a 1960 model - I would have expected all chrome, not plastic on the end portion. And the windshield wiper/washer knob with the small black button in the middle does look curious too, in that it doesn't quite seem to match the style of the adjacent ones. I guess you just can't be too careful these days...................

Having a dash from a 63/64 Chrysler and using components from a 63/64 Chrysler are two different things.

It was really the VIN issue that sends a red flag. Unlike the records for fuselage and similar year cars, there are records of VINs with Chrysler for those years.

No doubt, the buyer spending $150k on the black car or even $40k on the blue one should be doing their due diligence to check out the car's pedigree.
