Just something that I noticed on Craigslist:

I want to say "scam", but the non-convertible versions of these cars (even the convertibles to some extent) don't have the following they deserve. So who knows?

I also really like the coupes that came along in '66.

One thing is for sure, if I were a rich dude in the mid-60s, all the shopping would be between Imperial and Lincoln. Caddies wouldn't even be on the radar.

I prefer the 66s as well over the 61-65 design Icons despite the Mercury taste they have at least in the front end.

KInd of amazing how "small" the '61-era cars were, in comparison to the similar Imperials and Cadillacs. BUT they were still heavier at their smaller size. And the 430s in the earlier cars had a 2bbl carb.

Still, neat cars by any measure. Lots of little idiosyncracies and trouble areas to look for when purchasing one, from what I've read.

My friend's dad owned a convertible and he showed me where it had weights as ballast to make it heavier and ride smoother.
