Wonder what a $1500.00 steering wheel looks like...?

I got my 1961 Plymouth deluxe, (aero), wheel back yesterday. It was recast by D & D automobilia and is just gorgeous. Has to be better then it ever was.

The large horn bar is NOS and the smaller center button is the original for the car.

Cast with modern materials and carries a 10 year warranty.

Always wondered what it would cost to restore one of this sparkly wheels.
    Now (gulp) I know....
Gorgeous. But I'd be afraid to put my pinkies on it.

WOW, If they can recreate that wheel then mine would be a walk in the park.

The price is about what i was told it wold be to make my translucent white wheel.

the cost to recast the wheel was $1300.00, I gave $150.00 for the NOS center bar.

I had forgotten how amazing the design of the fittings was on the old Mopars. I think I would have an accident, if I drove a car with a wheel like that. I'd always be looking at the wheel and not the road. Mighty fine !

Hey Will, can you bring the steering wheel to Carlisle....I'm sure everyone would like to see that gem with their eyeballs.

    Thanks in advance.

That would be nice....but I don't think it will be done in time.

Will has a busy tour schedule. LOL!

A 61 Fury convertible is not a cheap car to restore and if you think Cbody stuff is tough to locate.... I have a good original dash pad located and the door panels will come from SMS. All else is just money, time and labor.

The car is still intact and a running driving car. Some/most of the trim has been removed for restoration purposes.
My collection of NOS and restored parts is growing at a steady rate and when the time is right the entire car will be dissembled and put through the body/paint/mechanical process. From there it will just be a matter of reassembling. Not likely to be ready for this Carlisle, but maybe 2016.

Looks like this place does a really good job. Dorsey has seen my red and white '61 fury in person , He said my aero wheel is not in bad shape but I still want it recast

Hi Steph. Don has sold his business, (D&D Automobilia), and mine and dorseys are the last two Aero wheels he will do. He has said he will work with the new owners as a consultant so if you want yours done you might give them a call soon.
