Howdy C-Bodies, I'm trying to find a source for the shiny(foil?) inserts on the '64 door cards. Or even what material it is. Thanks.

I think it's a mylar, or some type of aluminum insert. Obvious source is SMS, but Gary Goers USED to be the guy who had that kind of thing, but he has sold his business to someone else who runs it now. Here is the link to the new company: Quirey Quality Design Co.

You might also try to 300 club page. Good luck!

Matte Aluminum by Bare Metal Foil BMF 11
To do this yourself on the cheap order up some BareMetal self sticking foil.
I used it on scale model kits and on actual car parts with good results.
Practice with it first before laying it down on the door panels.
The Canadian built 300 is a mish mash of Saratoga 300 and Windsor trim parts that are not in reproduction.
SMS is the name of an interior supplier.
Hope this helps.

sure wish we had foil like this when I was building model car kits all those years ago...………. great idea...….

Great idea, I would be able to see the product if they carry it
It comes in small sheets so may need several to cover everything.
Surface has to be absolutely clean and old bits of mylar removed.
Avoid wrinkles and overlapping layers.
Use popsicle sticks and flat toothpicks on edges and other details.
Pres it flat and try not to rub hard as it can move under hard pressure distorting it.
Thats why I suggested practice first before doung final project to get a feel for the BareMetal foil.
Hope this helps.
