I do like very much. Too much money, but I do like. Tires look stupid, but I could fix that with a flappy disc.

1964 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER 4 DOOR HARDTOP. Here is a very rare opportunity to own a true 17,008 mile survivor. This Silver Turquoise beauty is a two owner car that has been in the same family since 1985. The car is in original condition; it has not been restored. The body is in very good condition-it is straight with no apparent rust. It appears to have been repainted at some point and there are some chips and a few scratches. Some chrome is pitted and the C pillar medallions are missing. The interior is fitted with turquoise and white cloth bench seats which are in excellent condition as is the carpeting, instrument panel, door panels and headliner. Power windows, push button factory radio and the Mark IV after market air conditioner all work. The car drives as it did in 1964. The 413 cubic inch 340 horsepower engine starts immediately, is smooth, powerful and quiet. Power is transmitted via the famous Chrysler push button 3 speed Torque Flite transmission. The ride is smooth and comfortable. Power steering is light to the touch and with new power brakes just installed, the vehicle stops as it should. In addition to the new brakes, gas lines and tires have recently been replaced.
This time capsule comes with the original Chrysler Operating Instructions manual, 1964 Chrysler carline brochure, Chrysler/Imperial Service Technical Manual, MoPar Passenger Parts List hard cover book extra parts and a Washington Post newspaper dated May 26, 1984.
This is truly a one of a kind find and perhaps the lowest mileage 1964 Chrysler New Yorker remaining in the world. It is not perfect, but it is in extremely good original condition. The vehicle is a real head turner and will be a hit at any car show. Vin - 834321541113. It is located in Pontiac, MI and can be purchased for $12,500.

Nice car, overpriced. Looks to be overheating given all the anti-freeze residue around the radiator cap.

What is the value of this car then?

That's a good and fair question. These cars (it would seem) have no following. I'm gonna say a #1 car could be worth this sum, but this car is far from that. Some elbow grease and nice wheels would go a long way.

$5-7k as-is.

What is the value of this car then?

Value is hard to determine without eyes on the car. The fact that fuel lines were replaced and the car was repainted suggest that the mileage might be suspect, or the car had extensive outside storage at some point. I would want to look at the underside for rust as this is a rust belt car and I would want to check the rockers for bondo. I would not expect the chrome to be pitted that much on a car with authentic mileage. The car has aftermarket air and a non-stock master cylinder which detracts from the originality of it as a collector piece. I am with Carmine, probably $5-$7k as presented. Yes a budget cruiser at $5-7k.

Repaint, pitted chrome,add- on air, master cyl. Etc......I'm guessing $4-6,000 should be close. If it was a 2 dr. maybe $5-7,000?

For value, I'm assuming no surprises with the body/mechanical.

Here's what it would look like if I owned it:

IMHO, I really like it. It's been updated with a dual master cylinder, although it's the generic replacement for an OE piece. That's a plus. The add on A/C looks period correct, so that's kinda cool. Paint, chrome etc. looks good in the pics, so it's a matter of price and really looking at the car.

Price sounds a little high, but again, a rust free (if it is) in a rust prone area will always bring a high price. If it is as nice as it looks, and the mileage is documented to be that low, the price might not be that far off. You couldn't restore it for that.

If it was a Salon, like Carmine made it into, it would have a shot at getting close to the asking price. You don't see too many Salons around. In fact, so few that google images couldn't turn up pics of any real nice ones. There was a beautiful Salon that attended a car show near me in the 1990's. Unfortunately, all I have is scanned photos, which don't come close to doing the car justice.

The lack of desirability hurts the value for sure but 12G's for a 17000 mile car doesn't seem too far out of line in todays market. If a scummy classic car dealer gets a hold of it watch for a primo detail job and a price north of 20G's.

Here's a pretty Salon that was on eBay back in '07 that's missing it's vinyl top, and needs some work on getting the rear springs arched correctly. If this car only had 17K miles, I think it could easily jump the $10K hurdle.

Interesting. Repainted at some time doesn't qualify as a type of restoration, namely paint restoration?

This car's only oustanding feature is it's base (albeit pretty) interior. If that interior were worn/torn/dirty, it's a $3500 car. Looks like that shiny-but-now-damaged paint job filled some trim holes. This being Detroit, with an abundance of Mopars, you can choose from several in this era which have been on CL since forever.

Yep... this is one ripped seat away from being far less desirable... but those seats are pretty for now.
