I had one that was very similar... Floor was paper thin abd I didn't realize until I went to bolt some seat belts in it. The rubber mat had held the moisture against the floor and it had rusted away... but you really couldn't see it from the bottom. It looked "soft" in a few spots, but not almost gone.

I ended up covering the floor with resin and glass mat. It worked well for a couple years and by then the rest of the car was shot.
