I can't believe I just found this site today. Too bad my first post is to advertise my car. Thanks for reading... Here it is.

1965 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible. "Numbers matching" 383 Commando V8 and original A833 4 speed transmission with original Hurst Competition Plus shifter and ball. About 8000 miles on restoration. Engine is bored to 392, has a Holley 4 bbl, Weiand Action plus intake and has lightweight pistons. New performance cam, lifters, springs, push rods, harmonic balancer, plugs, Mallory e coil (for the HEI ignition), and wheels 3000 km ago. K&N air filter and M/T polished aluminum valve covers. I also just replaced the driveshaft less than 300 miles ago (Driveshaft Specialist San Antonio, Texas). New lower ball joints and tie rod ends too. Has electric fuel pump as well. Compression is pretty good at about 155 across all 8 and has about 45 psi oil pressure hot idle and 55 on the hi way. The tires are Goodyear F1 run flats. They are over 400 bucks each to replace. 245-ZR-40-17 front and 275-ZR-40-18 in the rear. The rear end is the original one as well. 3.23 Sure Grip. 1 extra rear leaf was added when the springs were replaced. The exhaust is 2.5" dual Borla Hemi mufflers with H pipe. I also installed an AEM AFR gauge to monitor fuel ratios. 10 gallon fuel cell in the trunk. Pioneer stereo with 500 watts of power. It still could use some more detailing. Door panels aren't awesome. They're driver quality, but not show. Steering box needs a seal, driver side exhaust gasket needs to be replaced, and window felts need to be replaced. Chrome is pretty good original. The car is very reliable. We took it on a 3000 km trip this summer and it ran great. 19 mpg. Pretty much the whole history of the car is known. In case you're wondering, the paint is custom black base with pearl clear that goes from black to copper to purple depending on the way the sun hits it. A real head turner. I'm sure I forgot lots but good enough for now.
This car is very rare. It is 1 of 13 Canadian built black commando v8 4 speed convertibles cars made in 1965. It was appraised at $28,000.00 before the $4000.00 dollars was spent on it this summer. Smokin hot car, but I want back into an E body. It's a steal at my asking price of $18,000.

Nice car, but to many modifications for the money ........ Custom and aftermarket money rarely comes back at sale time.

Sharp car, welcome to the site, sorry but I agree with bluefury361 the price is a little high for what it is. Beautiful though

Nice car but I have always made it a point never to buy, or pay for, someone's engine or paint modifications.

I would be curious to know what the market would bear where you live. I had it sold once already for 16K but unfortunately the buyer passed away before he could take delivery. So I suspect that it may possibly be a geographical thing. There are only 3 furys of any type in my 800000 person city so they go a bit higher up here. Especially with the production numbers and history and the fact that most of the mods are bolt ons. I do have all of the original engine parts that would go with it. Including the 4 speed carb that it came with. So tell me, in your opinion, what would a better asking price be?

Nice ride. Tastefully done although the red dashboard is kind of distracting. You get what you can get for it, but remember this isn't an E, B, or even A body car (as you already know). Won't command prices like those cars will. In fact most of those guys (other body style owners) see the c body cars as drive train donors.

The 65 Sport Fury that my Father In-law purchased last year was about 8,000 with driving, picking it up, some items like front end parts he is all in for 9000. I think your car is about 10-12000 max but as was already said above by others it's only worth what someone is willing to pay and not worth what a equally nice A, B or E body is. Anyone else want to weigh in on this?

It this car were a chevy you might be in the ball park. The bow tie cars take well to mods because, well, they need them.

The same mods on a Fury are much less appealing because the cars were so "right" when produced. Especially a original 383 4spd convertible. Much more desirable in it's original state. It's good that you saved the original stuff. But the custom paint isn't working and "if" the interior is non OEM then thats an expensive fix.

You may find a buyer, at your price, that likes the mods, but probably not a mopar guy.

IMHO you could list it at 10-12K and expect to fetch 8-9K.

Wow. There's probably a better way to put that. Opinionated much? A guy puts his car up for sale and because it isn't what you like or would do, you commence the bashing of someone else's taste?

Your new here, and very welcome. It's obvious your passionate about your car, you should be, it's a nice one.
And your right. There would have been a better way to say that. But don't take it personal. This forum is a little different then most and you'll get some pretty blunt opinions sometimes. Theres a lot of cross over of seriously modified, moderate updated and purests here, but somehow we all get along pretty good.
Stan, (the poster), has a really cool 67 Newport with, what I think is, questionable taste in wheel & tire treatments. But he likes it, so it's all good.
Stick around awile and keep us updated about your Fury. Good luck with selling it.

Will.

I agree with the others....

Very nice car!

As is you might get $8-9k. Return to stock maybe a little more. These cars don't command the money that B's, E's, and A's sell for.

The guys here are a great bunch....some are more opinionated than others.
