I'm looking for a pair of NICE wiper arms for my 66 300 2dr HT. The ones on my car are starting to show their age, weak, marked up and ugly. A lot like me.
Seems how this topics gone left, I will bring up this point of order! As for your arms that you're looking for I'll give you this bit of knowledge. The arms on my 300 look like polished stainless or chrome, while my brothers 66-300 had a brushed aluminum look to them. I don't know if his were changed as he was the 3rd owner, I'm the 2nd owner and knew the original owner and know that they weren't changed as where my brother's could've been? I Don't know if shiny wipers were a option in 66 or not?? Good Luck
You're on to something @stubs300 - there were brushed finished and shiny finish - and while we've both seen identical models, one with brushed and the other with shiny, I believe the lesser models got the brushed and the higher models got the shiny. They do interchange, and I'll bet assembly line availability had something to do with the inconsistencies - no shiny ones in the bin today? Well, keep it moving, install the brushed ones. And vice versa...
I gotta disagree as my Red w/white top, A/C, PS, PB, Towing pkg., Pax side headrest, peg leg rear. And my brothers was a bone stock Marron, black top with all black interior PS, PB, sure-grip. Mine are shiny, brothers were brushed. My brothers was more of a Hot Rod then mine, both stock at the time. I'll say this though, at certain times of the day, the sun will hit those polished wipers and blind the snot out of you, that's the only thing I don't like about them. Otherwise the polished look better to me with all the other chrome. Good Luck
I got the old "whimper" arms off, It looks like I definitely have the brushed set up. I'm fine with that since they seem to be stainless and prefer that over the maintenance heavy shiny ones. Also It look like if I can source the correct spring retainer pin then I maybe able to restore these. I use the term "restore" loosely. By that I mean make functional and clean and looking pretty good from 10 feet away. Thank you all for your comments and information.
