1966 Chrysler Newport 2 Door Hardtop with Numbers Matching Original 383 engine and Extremely Rare factory original 3 Speed Column Mounted Manual Transmission! (How many 3 pedal Chryslers have you seen!?)

Only 270 of these 383 - 3 speed manual transmission cars were built, most were sedans, and according to Chrysler Group LLC, this was the ONLY Red 2 Door Hardtop built with a 383 and a 3 speed manual transmission! In other words, this is the only one like it in the world. (1 of 1).

It is a nice, simple, low option car - having only a Radio, Antenna, Bucket Seats and Fender Skirts shown on the original fender tag which is still in place and shown in the photos! The original Certicard is still in the car, in its original holder as it was when it was new.

This car was purchased when new in 1965 in Boise, ID (see Certicard picture in this ad). I have owned this car for almost twenty years, and am apparently the 3rd owner. This is a very straight car, and according to the reports I received when I bought the car (and looking over the body panels very carefully), it has never been wrecked, and it wears very straight all original body panels all around, including ALL floors and trunk panels, which are still rust-free after 55 years!

This car is all original except for a 15 year old high-quality ($3,000+) repaint in the original color. The paint is good, except for some clearcoat starting to peel. There is very minor rust above the left rear fender skirt and behind the right rear wheel (see photos). Look how straight these original body panels are! (see photos)

This car has only been driven 119,000 actual miles from new.

The interior is original, with patina, and could use some reupholstery if you want it perfect. Legendary Interiors carries reproduction interior parts in this color. A new headliner (not yet installed) goes with the car, as well as new armrest backing plates and new carpet. You can decide to do things like reupholstery, or drive and enjoy it with the patina that it has from 55 years of enjoyment. I prefer the latter.

According to two major Auction houses, this is a $35,000+ car with the interior and minor paint/body work done. You could spend a little and have the potential to make a lot if you so choose!

I recently had 4 new tires installed (the spare is an Allstate, on an original rim for this car, a belted tire, probably from the '70s, still holding good air for shows, etc!). I recently had: the fuel pump and fuel filter replaced, the mechanic cleaned all the fuel lines and rebuilt and restored the gas tank, rebuilt all 4 brake wheel cylinders and replaced the master cylinder, replaced plugs, distributor cap and rotor, plug wires, etc. The battery is recent and very good. This car is dependable, comfortable, and is a head-turner, to drive enjoy!

Photos are current! Check it out – you won’t find a nicer, rarer 1966 Chrysler anywhere at this price.

Clean Title.

Asking $14,950. (Less than half the cost of a new car and much more fun to drive!).

Well it is not the only one. This one has a black bench interior, and even less options. And I am the second owner.
Those "fender skirts" were not optional. These are actually removable body panels. The fender tag will show standard equipment, such as an engine.

Even if that car was perfect it wouldn't pull $35,000 like the 2 auction houses claim.

Teh 2nd red one looks much better to me with the WW tires.
