Jumping over from the B-bodies to the C-bodies with my new purchase.
Restoration of my 1969 Dodge Coronet 500 went from long term to very long term and wanted to get something closer to complete. Saw this beauty at auction in Maine and could not resist.
This 1966 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible started in Texas, fender Certicard is still in its pocket, moved to Florida and was purchased in 2011 for relocated to Maine before coming home with me to Massachusetts.
383 cubes with an Edelbrock 4 bbl, Auto, aftermarket Vintage Air, PS, PB with dual reservoir master and four drums. Repaint at some point in her life, but appears pretty close to solid from bumper to bumper.
Previous owner did some extensive work to keep it parade duty ready, thus its a fun ride.
We rebuilt all four wheel cylinders due to seepage and replaced rear shoes (lining had separated from shoes). 11" x 2" rear shoes, been doing a lot of reading on the drum replacement dilemma - OE style no longer available.
Only wish I had found this '66 Polara in the spring instead of the fall. But now we have the off season to tinker and prep for next season.
