I have been chasing a leak on my front floor(drivers side along hump) in my Fury for a few weeks. The other day I traced it back. Some bad luck I have, it is coming out of the cowl drain in the firewall, dripping down onto the horizontal edge and onto my accelerator cable and riding it on down into the car! I was just seeing if anybody else had this problem and any fix suggestions. The rubber flap that is supposed to be there fell off, but it was hard as a rock.

The rubber flap on the cowl drain is a common part. Should be in somebody's repro rubber parts selection, I suspect.

Might get some sealer or caulk and make a dam to keep the water from getting to the accel linkage opening?

Might take the cowl grille off and explore the cowl area with a borescope to see if a rust hole might not exist in there, too. Maybe vac out any accumulated debris/accumulation which might hold moisture, too.

Just some thoughts,

I think I did see of somebody making repops. I have to look in my manual, I tried looking down onto the firewall there and it looks like there is a rubber grommet missing and I can see the foam on the interior of the firewall. One of these days I would like to pull the cowl grill off to clean, there is a lot of needles and helicopters down there. I’m glad our cars have that option! Thank you

I doubt the rubber flap or the lack of it is your problem, it is there to let the water out. You might want to look at the pedal and cable seals, water should not be getting in through there.

I think this is the problem. It’s a tight spot but this was the best picture I could get. Should there be a rubber grommet into the firewall there?

There should be and it may be there behind the foam.
The cable housing at that point should have little to no movement. The grommet may be worn out or the clip missing.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I’ll check up in there for it. If not, is the grommet reproduced or is it the same as the speedo or park brake one?

This is a picture of my Barracuda, yours is basically the same, you can see the grommet just under the rusty washer and clip that holds it all together.

Honestly I'd start looking elsewhere, you may have a rust hole or a crack in the sealant.
