1966 fury restoration

Awe man I don't know why but my dash scares the heck outa me...I predict this is gonna be a nice ride when you're done!

Well my expoy has about 2 weeks before the date on the can says not to use it. So time to switch gears and gather in primer. So now its on the stripping paint. It's slow work but good paint work isnt fast. Just taking my time and chipping away at her bit by bit every night.

The dash was a pain. There was a few things to disconnect or unbolt that you can't really see and is a pain to get to. But not as bad as the 1/4 windows. I dread the day/week I have to put all the side glass back in. Luckily I have a parts car that everything is coming out of and going right into this.

Well I finally got epoxy on her a few weeks ago and blocked it did a little filler work. Now I will spray 2 more coats and use some poly primer to spray a few spots. Basically just using if for my second coat of mud instead of spreading body filler with a spreader just to make blocking it out easier. I also am getting ready to take the stub frame out and get the engine and trans in it so I can break in my cam and make to trans mount.

So I bit the bullet and got a strange dana 60. Got a sure grip from a 69 road runner and had it rebuilt by shop I trust. They also set 3.73 gears up. So the 8 3/4 is out and waiting on parts to put back in. I order a complete front suspension from firm feel. New torsion bars, Front stabilizer bar, tubular upper control arms, all ball joints tie rods all 4 bilstein shocks and rear stabilizer bar and new spring hangers and shackles. Once I get the dana 60 in I can measure for the new driveshaft.

So off subject a bit. I pulled my 69 dart father son project in the shop after 6 years of looking at it. Its bittersweet seeing both my dream cars in the shop together.

After looking for the color I want on the fury for 3 years I finally found the color I want. I knew what I wanted but couldn't find a factory color that matched what I was thinking. I wanted a dark gray metallic that flopped to black. But I wanted more pop to the metallic then just silver. So this is what I found. It has about 95% silver metallic and just a touch of rainbow to it that only pops in the sun. It should really accent the body lines.

I am not sure if you said in a different post, but what cam are you using?
Sounds like the headers are open

Yes it's open headers and short collectors. I haven't got the headers I want yet and I didn't want to mess them up during cam brake in. And the cam is a Clay Smith. It's .480 lift 231 @ .050 and 108° I called them and that's what they suggested for my setup and what I'm going to use use car for. And was right in the middle of the few cams I was looking at.

Dana 60 is in and ready for brakes. Unfortunately I'm waiting on parts to ship so I can get my rear stabilizer and shocks. Once I get that I can get the rear finished up and measure for the driveshaft. The entire front suspension is supposed to ship with it so them I get that done before spring.
