Ok from what I remember when i originally took my intake off years ago to redo there were two valley covers that were rotted out so I kept them to one day make a new set. Unfortunately over the years they got lost. Im having the engine gone through at a shop and will repaint it as well. I found one valley cover like the one in the pic but need the other one.
If anyone knows what it looks like or has a photo and can measure so I can make one I would appreciate it.
Its the front cover I need.
Thanks
Gary

This is the one I have

I probably have some of these, I’ll check my stash when I get to the shop this morning.

In some respects, other than providing a solid and even bolt torque for the valley pan gasket ends, the real purpose of those items could well be as "sight shields" for easy views of the valley pan gasket itself? Otherwise, they would be just 1/8" thick bars with bolt holes in them.

Just some suspicions,

That is the “silencer package” and I honestly don’t remember ever having the one you’re missing. I have several of the same ones you have which could be easily cut down to match the one you’re missing.

The plate you show is just to hold down the silencer material. Most don't use it on anything but a stock setup.

Yes they just cover the hole up

Yeah i have the bars

They use those covers on front and back on the 1960's BB engines. You need a pair

You may very well be correct, and now I vaguely remember seeing a back one before, but none of my spare engines has the rear one. Could be that they were just missing.

Could be after 55+ years they were removed. They are not as easy to find as they were 40 years ago.
