Always reminded me of these. Or vise-versa...
small block? what the hell........ that thing requires a big block, nay, requires a 440
Where's Verplanck? Crap! Is it on the Hudson River in New York! Damn that's too far away! Love to have something unique like that travel home. As a bus driver it wouldn't bother me at all to drive one!
That poor little LA motor must be so sad draggin around all that RV..... Neat unit regardless of it's powertrain.
Guys, 225 and 318 engines were available in chassis up to and including this, and performed the job they were designed to. You are not going to set speed records in either, or a 440 or 413, for that matter, in this.
Of course not, much like our beloved C bodies and fat chicks they were built for comfort not speed..... BUT....... I would want some torque pulling that thing through some hills or if I was towing a car/boat behind it a 318 isnt pulling that rig up and down the mountains.
A lot of the later one's and Winnebago's on the Dodge Chassis had 360's. Atleast every single one I've robbed parts from did.
I love the 360..... but for something that size .....?
My van had a 318 and it took a lot of miles for it to top out at 100 mph
It will be parked most of the time anyways.
I agree not big enough, Needs a blown 451 stroker..........
