1968 Plymouth Fury III. 383 2bbl, 727 Automatic. 8.75 rearend, all numbers matching.

The body is really straight, original red paint in great condition. It does have one rust hole in the driver's side rear quarter. (Inside of panel has been treated with POR-15). It does have 2 small areas where the paint has been touched up. Otherwise the original paint has a good amount of shine, and just a few small areas of patina. The roof originally had a white vinyl top, but that has been removed, and the roof has been painted white.

Glass is all good and lights all work.

Interior is a 7/10. Original blue upholstery. Dash is near-perfect. Seats are good, with minor splits in the seams, and one tear on the driver's side. Seats are very comfortable. Door panels are great. Steering wheel is great. Headliner is good, but does have a small hole near the edge, and one sail panel is separating. Carpet is fair, but has sun fading, staining, and general wear and tear. Gauges all work. Lights all work. The heater/defrost/air conditioning controls do not work. The radio does not work. The clock does not work.

Engine is a factory 383, 2 barrel. All original. It has been removed, repainted, and reinstalled. Runs excellent. Factory air conditioning, not currently working, but all there. Factory exhaust manifolds with a glasspack muffler, sounds great. Probably needs some exhaust pipe added to bring it back further, but that's optional. New radiator. New plug wires. New spark plugs. New cap and rotor. It does have a leaking valve cover gasket, but it hasn't been a major issue.

Transmission is a 727 automatic that was supposedly rebuilt, but I don't have a record of that. It definitely drives and shifts great.

Brakes work great, drums all the way around. It has a new master cylinder and brake lines.

Good tires, 14 inch wherls with factory hubcaps. Factory spare and jack are still in the trunk.

Unique color combo for sure. Red, white and blue. No doubt a special order.

This car is a great cruiser. It runs and drives excellent. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country.

Looking to get $6000 or best reasonable offer.

Also willing to trade for a pre-1975 car or truck of similar value. Let me know what you have. Not interested in motorcycles or boats.

I recall discussion of a car with same color scheme but don’t recall if it was this one.

Seems I recall some saying it wasn’t unheard of in the ‘olden’ days

Geeez Louise, all that R & R work just for paint? Why not replace the freeze plugs, do the timing chain, drop the pan clean the screen, replace the crank seals, and maybe do the valve seals?
All those items could cause problems for a future buyer. But then I guess, where do you stop. he he
(edit) I think I found a old NOS Y-Pipe for the 383 2bbl if that is the exaust problem.
