1969 Dodge Monaco 500 Convertible…with a ’72 Monaco front clip - C$8,500 - Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

FB Description

Reducing my fleet, selling my Canadian market 69 Dodge Monaco 500 convertible project. the US didnt get Monaco converts, the top US Dodge C body convert was the Polara 500; Canada got Polara, Polara 500, Monaco and Monaco 500 converts. there were 347 Monaco 500 converts built. its a 383HP, ps, pb, console shift auto, pw, p trunk, p top. drum brakes. factory R6 red with white top and white interior; the interior was dyed black. Exc dash pad. the steering wheel in the pics is gone, has a black wheel now. I have new white Legendary seat covers for it ( 69 Monacos used 69 Sport Fury interiors) there is no rust in this car, - floors, cowl/firewall are solid. new trunk floor was installed and both rear 1/4s were replaced. the work was done by the late Dutch Pete of Shawnigan Lake. Pete also custom fabbed the blended installation of a 72 Monaco hidden headlight nose. ( it wasnt needed but I always thought the 72 Monaco nose was cool). this involved getting a hood from a 72 Polara/Monaco hood from National Moparts in Ontario and a 73 Monaco nose & fenders from Mopar Joe. Pete blended the 73 fender tops and front onto the 69 fenders, retaining the 69 wheel openings. Jerry of Jerry's Plastic Restoration in Duncan restored the grille. I managed to get all the NOS 72 Monaco front trim needed inc signal lens units, bezels etc. there is also NOS Monaco 500 front lower fender trim. the car is in Victoria. it runs from a gas can, the fuel tank was removed to install the new trunk floor and I never got around to undercoating the trunk before putting the tank back in. the car is ready for paint; I was getting ready to get it done but life happened...... if the 72 nose isnt to your taste i have the 69 front bumper, grille and hood so it could be switched back. you would need a pair of 69 fenders. ive got at least $20k in it. I would like to see $8500 for it, no trades please - I have too many cars.
