I am aware you want to buy a wagon and I believe you should put together a plan to save $500 per month or whatever you can afford until you get something in the range of $8000 saved up so when one of these comes along, preferably a Polara in your case, you could pounce on it.

Trying to buy the cheapest wagon you can find and fixing it up over time will end up costing you a lot of time and much more expense (at least double) compared to buying something like this by putting together a savings plan and in the end you won't have a cludged together mash of patch panels plus bondo and a crappy interior that will never be any good, especially the rear plastic covers, the perforated hardboard headliners, cracked dash pad, worn out door panels and so on plus a drive train that needs full rebuilding. You would also avoid searching endlessly for better parts and still end up with something undesirable since 50 year + old parts that are any good anymore almost don't exist.

In my view, what I am suggesting is the only way to go anymore. Otherwise, the end result would likely be a project that never gets done because the desire just runs out to try to make a pile of junk into something you would even want to drive or show.

Best wishes.....................
