Wow.. totally worth his asking price in my opinion and also worth a new life. I love the 69’s.. I certainly hope the right person with the right checkbook sees her potential and worthiness.

DAMN! In town too! Price is fair but this one's a LOT of work! Much as I would LOVE to have it, the rust cancer is bad enough to be prohibitive for my purposes. Tilly has SOME herself, but this one looks worse....

Bought this „box of chocolate“...can't wait to see what I got myself into.

Obviously it needs A LOT of parts, so feel free to „shitload“ me with good offers:
    - complete 440-drivetrain (engine, trans, driveshaft, radiator)
    -passenger frontdoor
    -15“ rims
    -front-bench foams an vinyl/cloth-fabric
    -headliner
    -doorpanels

I think the white steering wheel was worth the asking price of $900 eh?
O mab'be you got it for less, whatever I'm surprised nobody mentioned the white steering wheel 'cuz wasn't that a CHP only item? I seem to recall back then that more rural budget strapped communities would buy patrol cars from a state auction for their use, sorta got first dib's at the auction IIRC.

I almost bought this car, but decided against it, I have enough of them...gotta draw the line somwhere.

It’s originally an A4 silver car, white top, blue interior. 440/360HP Pursuit Commando .

Very rare car, the steering wheel is correct. It was a fleet option, ordered by states with lots of sun. E.G, Arizona, California, Nevada...

This was the best deal I’ve seen in a Pursuit Fury in many, many years, very well bought.

I have a lot of parts for this car if the buyer is inserted.

Thanks for the kind words to all 3 of you @68PK21 440.6bbl & @Fury Pursuit !

When I hold this car in my hands, a long quest finally has come to a good end: I am looking for a cop-car since a long time, all started with Carstens 69 CHP Polara. Meanwhile had passed on several cars or they passed on me...right, Carsten @fc7_plumcrazy ???

@price:No, payed the asked price without even trying to negotiate 1Ct. => this was so reasonably priced, a lower offer would not have been fair to say at least.

Due to the low price I nearly do not expect anything.

Only things important to me is that the paperwork is all perfect (title, bos, fendertag) and that the body is rustwise in the condition that the photos represented. If that is the case, I am totally satisfied. For me it looks rustwise MUCH better than Carstens @fc7_plumcrazy 69 CHP.

Of course, I would have been more than happy if that car still had its original drivetrain and would have payed WAY more if that had been the case...but it is not and MIA.

@small offices: I, too, am thinking that it is possible, that smaller jurisdictions/departments who ran on a budget might have regularly purchased used cop-cars from much bigger/wealthier ones.

@white steering wheel: really a police specific item??? Thought that anyone could order a white steering wheel (at least with a white/parchment interiour). Those white ones were notorious for getting brittle...I will do my best in saving whats left of this one.

@silver colour&other specs: yes, I realised later, that this is not an originally white car, but a silver one. Cool! Though more difficult/expensive to paint. Are you sure with the white roof? And with the 360HP-engine? Did anybody of you guys see the fendertag(s) of this car? I haven't yet.

@parts: thanks for offering me parts @Fury Pursuit ! I will definately get back to you and PM you sooner or later!

@69monaco: thank you for being one of the two persons posting this car here initially (other person is of the other thread).

By chance I had stumbled across this car on my own at craigslist.

So no finders fee for you ;-) Anyway, would be nice to meet you in person (if we haven't already met in Herten) and have a beer and a Frikandel spezial on this find. Dank je wel!

@71Polara383: thanks for complimenting my car...hope it turns out to be exactly this!!! :steering:

Was there a reason they put the white steering wheels on cop cars?

Glad to see somebody got it who wants to put it right. I consulted the Babushka on this, but we don't have room for stuff that will be NON-running for ...a while anyway.

Thanks for asking, YES, there was: imagine to put your hands an a black steering wheel on a hot day...now imagine it is a hot day in a southern/desert state...now imagine doing the same with a white steering wheel.

For the same reason - not to burn yourself - often the handle of the spotligh(s) were white, too, and they preferred white cars or at least turned to white roof.

All that started, because at that time cop-cars usually did NOT have AC...AC on cop-cars started to my knowledge in 1968, but not every cop-car was equipped with it.

Correct me anyone, if I am wrong.

    Thanks for your kind words.

BTW: did not tell my wifey yet ;-) How is that saying: easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission?
