1970-72 Ply Fury Instrument Cluster Question

Asking for my brother so please don't shoot the messenger. I'm not familiar with the Fury's as I own a real C-body, a 72 Imperial. :yaayy:

He has a 70 Sport Fury and wants to know if the Instrument cluster from a 72 Fury is a direct swap unit. He said something about the 72 cluster being from a cop car and goes to 140 or 150 mph versus the 70 cluster going to 120mph? :shruggy:

Yes, the cluster goes to 140 if it is a certified speedo.

The 70 and 71 cluster are the same and the 72/73 cluster is the same. The differences between the two clusters is the alternator and temperature gauges switch positions and the 60+/60- on the 70/71 temp goes to 80+/80- on the 72/73 temp gauge
