Hey guys,

I am tacking the mysterious ticking noise I have had when the engine is under load coming from the drivers side engine. Upon close inspection of the manifolds I noticed the driver side has a gasket while the passenger side does not so I assume the driver side was removed at some point. To my somewhat pleasant surprise I noticed one of the studs is missing a nut and I suspect may be part of the cause of the exhaust leak. The stud and threads are intact and look fine.

Does anyone know what size/type/thread of a nut do I need? I want to install one where it is missing.

Stud is a fine thread and the nut takes a 1/2 inch socket. IIRC.
From the factory, exhaust manifold gaskets were never used
People do put them on however even when not needed unless the manifold is warped
Hope this helps.

Thanks I figured the gasket was not original. I am trying to figure out what number fine thread I need.

3/8 x24. It takes a 9/16

Try a nut, but if the gasket is burnt from the missing nut it will have to come out of there, you can torque the nut as tight as you can and it will still leak.
