1970 Newport 'vert near Montreal

Not mine. Newport convertible for sale in Quebec. Seller seems helpful and responded quickly to my inquiry. He is asking CAD15k or about USD11k.

Few options (L31, P31, B51, R13 -- that's it from the tag). No A/C if that matters. Black bench interior seems original and in good condition. Red repaint of EF8 car. Originally 383-2, apparently upgraded to 4-barrels and dual-snorkel air cleaner.

I passed because I want originality, but others may be interested. If they are, they should ask about what's happened to the trunk. I forgot to ask, but see the picture posted in the ad (last one below).

I have never seen a Chrysler so bright red. And I personally think it takes away from the elegance of it.

That is definitely not the original bumper. That's a Newport custom bumper with the correct non-custom lenses. I'm guessing from that and the trunk shots, it was repaired. I can't believe how many '70 Newport convertibles survived, I have one too.

This has the aluminum wheels and hard to find center caps from the late 70s and either the grille or trunk lid emblem does belong to the grille of a 71 Newport Custom. The "Chrysler" script on the grille should not be on there and the spare wheel seems to be from the 90s (Ford Crown Vic?).

Those are beautiful ragtops but the fugly welding on the rear well doesn't bode well for the rest of the trunk or bottom side. It detracts from the rest of the car. The other mods can be reversed if need be. I still like it a lot but not at the asking price.
