I was wondering what made it "gigantic".
It's absolutely unnecessary, but so are pedal mashing blasts to 100+mph. They still put a smile on my face, though. For the record, the only burnouts I did this year were for drag racing.
I do plan on getting an "LDS" emblem made when I build my 72 W200.

The Russians were fond of American cars starting with Stalin already, just look at the Packard copies they produced for their brass, not to mention Breshnew who sort of expected to be presented with an exotic or luxurious car from their foreign visitors.
