I'm very late to posting in this part of the page since I've owned the wagon 4 years now. But here's a few pics from the day I got it Dec 16th 2016 had a 318 904 trans open 2.76 gear.

Over a few weeks I swapped out the broken grill and smashed bumper and installed a better fender extension. Fixed the brakes and got it to fire up and run.

I'm happy to see you start this thread! Any idea what kind of incident caused the bumper damage?

After getting the wagon running I wanted to do a cam swap and put a 4bbl on it. I bought all the part's took the motor apart started pulling the cam and the bearings came out with the cam. So then I decided I wanted the wagon the way I would of ordered it. I had a bored 440 sitting on a engine stand that I got out of a truck.

Yes I do so the wagon was factory 3 on the tree. We'll at some point that trans went bad and a 904 was put in. The guy I got it from said his buddy was trying to start the wagon he told him to make sure it was in park cause the safety neutral was by passed. Well it wasn't so he jumped the starter relay while work the gas and it fired up in gear locked his arm pit area in the hood hinge. And it took off into 2 more Fury's and a Lincoln luckily the guy was ok. And the hood was open so that's why it didn't get damaged.

So I put the motor in and found a 727 for it after searching for a little. Drove it for a summer and then a connecting rod bearing went bad when the motor was rebuilt year's ago the shop never put a oil slinger for the chain and no wind age tray. My mess up for not double check the motor after taking it out of a running truck.

So I pulled the 440 and rebuilt it over the winter while that was happening I worked on the interior also. I had a friend wrap a dash pad for me I had him leave the speaker holes in the center alone. Since the wagon was optioned without a radio. I got a oil pressure gauge from a member here and got a fleet steering wheel but may swap that out cause I found a woodgrain wheel and getting that tomorrow actually.

Your friend does a better job at wrapping dashes than Just Dashes does judging from what he did for you. Very nice detailing on your dash cluster as well Manny. Keep up the good work.

440 in it is a game changer, I like the fact that you keep the engine stock looking from the outside with the correct air cleaner etc. With that drivetrain it really becomes a SPORT suburban. Great job keep those pictures coming:thumbsup:

Thank's Steve it's been a blast fixing the wagon up over the year's. I was super happy how the dash turned out also. I still need to put the wood strip on the dash but I may leave it off also.

Thank you that's the look I wanted when I decided to go big block. It's bored 60 Keith black pistons ARP head bolts comp .491 cam performer intake. When the motor was redone had the shop completely go through everything for me.

Either do it right or leave it alone, no half *** s"*t, I like that approach. It'll pay off when finished
It did still fine tuning the motor but I put 1k miles on it right away once I was able to drive it.

So after finally getting the wagon going with the rebuilt 440 and a nice 727 and a 3.91 set up for a little. But have gone to 3.23 since then I started working on other stuff locating the missing trim now I have 2 sets almost. I also bought a 69 wagon for part's couldn't pass it up for 400 I decided to put the 9 pass set up from it in my 70. That was actually pretty easy to do and my kids like it.

I am following this with interest, as I know of another Sport Suburban that belongs to a member here. Also because I am a '70 Fury guy. Interesting your wagon did not come with a radio.
