My first build sheet (kinda).

Super happy, but can't get it out at this point, not much room to work under the seat.
Maybe when I reupholster.

Here’s my public service announcement on replacing all hoses after a rebuild. This unsuspecting critter cost someone a $112,000 rebuilt engine. It burnt up after a few days use and of course it was our fault & 100% warranty until we found this. Their guy did the install and blew off rehosing to save $6k.

Totally normal on the outside 100% crap on the inside.

Never trust an old hose...

What's the hose from, cooling system? Looks like it's a hydraulic hose?

That is a coolant hose. It swelled shut and cut off the coolant flow to the turbo side. Turbo overheated burnt off the coolant - no tell tale leak so engine finally ran low, overheated and locked up.

Full disclosure it had crimped on 90° Parker fittings so at a glance it looked okay.

Can someone tell me if this is the original Master cylinder for this car?
Looks like 53882-2
made in U.S.A.

I need to know if it's original because if it is not I'm going to just order a new master cylinder. But if it's original, it gets rebuilt.

I believe the originals and older replacements had a rounded front. This one's square just like the MC you'd get at Kragen in the present day.....
I'm not an expert on these though so maybe one of them can pipe up.

I asked if the brake booster is original also, in this thread, Original brake booster? And it appears that the brake booster is an original to the car so I will be rebuilding it.

Does anyone out there have the correct master cylinder for this car?

Side note, this car (71 newport custom) is going to do nothing until I receive the parts from mobileparts later this month.

In the meantime, I bought this car not too long ago and I will be taking it to the race track before I even get to drive my boat.
It's an M46 and I've been working on the purchase for 3-4 years. Finally got it.
White exterior with a red and white stripe between the blackout on the bottom sides, tail panel and grill. RED interior. Stunning looking car, especially for a white car.
Currently FJ6 Sassy Grass Green.
440 stroked to 505. Reverse trans,3200 stall, spooled 4.10 rear, 29"M/T's. Chromoly cage . 11 seconds at 130 mph.

M46 info below, for anyone who might have interest.
Also, more info on the site if you search.

Well, anyway I figured out that the build sheet under the front seat is indeed for this car. Vin number match's.
In the glove box were these factory documents.

Interior pics. At least the dash anyway. Look at that thing. Not cracked at all.

Please keep in mind I have not had an opportunity to clean the interior yet.

The pedals are in great shape.

33,603 showing on the odometer.

However the speedometer is not working properly. It stays between 70 mph and higher as I drive.

I hate posting pictures of a car that is literally Nebraska Farm fresh.
