Options on this 1971 Plymouth Fury III Gran Coupe include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl/Cloth Interior and BF Goodrich T/A Radial Tires wrapped around Steel Wheels with Hub Caps. This survivor is offered for sale with 9,394 actual miles. The VIN on this classic indicates that this is a "High Performance" B-code 4-barrel car. The seller states that this is a numbers matching classic with very low original miles. The vintage Plymouth really stands out with its factory optioned Paisley top and matching interior. The classic looks the part in brown with matching brown interior. Everything about this classic screams the 70's! Untouched survivors from this era are very rare and are skyrocketing in value. This '71 Fury runs and drives GREAT! The classic would make a wonderful weekend show car and is reliable enough to be a daily driver. Plymouth: Fury Gran Coupe

How many of these were made. They're getting like the Hurst 300, everywhere.

Nice clean looking car, I think someone else posted it also last week.

Very nice car.

Where they only brown with the paisley top and seats? Like Dave said we have seen a few lately including the one at Carlisle.

I think white or beige were possible paints available with the brown paisley.
We had a 71 Sport Fury 4dr with a dark brown interior but i don't remember it being a paisley pattern.

i know you all are familiar with this, but just thought I"d share.

Spring of 1970 saw a new mid-year model called the "Gran Coupe". It was based on the 1970 Plymouth Fury II two-door sedan but had more standard equipment including air conditioning and the Sport Fury grille with its concealed headlights. Most noteable were the vinyl roof and the interior upholstery with their Paisley pattern. Although most Gran Coupes had a copper tone paint, other exterior colors were available. Here are three different ads for this model with two of them making direct comparison to the Chevy Caprice and the Ford LTD.

The 1970 Plymouth Gran Coupe special model was continued in 1971 but now the Gran Coupe was available as a real 2-door hardtop and 4-door hardtop. If ordered with four doors, it was still called the Gran Coupe. Different exterior and interior colors could be selected, but only the tan standard interior would sport a Paisley patterend upholstery. The Sport Fury grille was standard and the C-pillar featured a Gran Coupe nameplate.

Production totals were buried amid the Fury II coupe stats, but some idea of the popularity of the Gran Coupe can be ascertained by noting that assemblies of Fury II coupes shot up from 3,268 units in 1969 to 21,316 cars in 1970 -- even while overall demand for big Plymouths was going down.

wow, that's a bummer. Sorry to hear that, and if I had forgotten the story from earlier, it does sound familiar. That's "

that sucks, man

I'm wondering about the copper tube split off the incoming gas line too. Looks like something that was added.
Used to do that for a Southwind heater, but that was in the 30's & 40's.

$16k would be my absolute limit on that car.
Like the color and the big block w/air.

checking out the sellers homepage:

Gateway Classic Cars

and seeing the prices for their other cars I would run.
Seems heavily overpriced
I can just guess this Fury will not be as "nice" as it appears in the pictures

Reminds me of Lakeland somehow
