For those of you with a 1970 or 1971 GT the strobes are now available in 3 colours and reflective strobes from Stencils and Stripes. I was able to get a very nice quality set made in gold metallic for my GF7 1971 Plymouth Sport fury for roughly $450 shipped. If you order ask for Ralph, extremely good customer service.

(Yes it’s a Sport Fury GT clone, formal top)

For those who want a '71 GT stripe kit that is an accurate reproduction of the original stripes, the Stencils and Stripe kit is not for you as it is not an accurate reproduction and there are other incorrect ones out there as illustrated in the photo of the black GT. Don't take my word for it, just ask Dave who owns the green 71 Sunroof GT and others who have purchased the Stencils and Stripes stripe kit for a real 71 GT. I am working with another FCBO member on getting an accurate, proportionally correct kit made in a limited quantity. Currently there is no one that I know of that reproduces an accurate 71 GT stripe kit that will make one for you unless you are willing to order a large quantity of them.

Konner, it's not my car but I think it looked great with just the strobe stripes and no GT decals, just like you could have ordered in lieu of body side moldings on 71 Sport Fury 2 doors.

I agree with Fury GT/Bill,.. the kit offered by Stencils and Stripes is inaccurate in many ways. And isn’t correct at all. It’s close, but not close enough, for anyone restoring a 71 GT.

What are the different suppliers of the "GT" stripe kits for a 1970 Plymouth Fury. I've given up on finding a supplier for the thin colored rubber strip that is about in the center of the body side trim. I am trying to restore a 70 Fury III convertible that I've added a 440-6 to it. I vaguely remember seeing a car, a long, long time ago where the strobes were much larger. Perhaps even 4"-6" in height. Wish I had bought the car. The salvage yard crushed it. I believe it was a "GT" car. Remember the stripes around the hood bulges, bucket seats, and the road wheels. I didn't have the $700 they wanted for the 440. This was in about 1975. A yard less than a mile away had a 426 Hemi for $600, and the 4-speed transmission with pistol grip for $100. A wise decision, my dad would not loan me the money. At 18 I was already going over 140 MPH on a weekly basis, just run-in' around.

I'll give Phoenix credit for trying, but really their kit was a mile off of looking like the originals. Nobody who knew what a '71 Fury GT looked like would have been fooled for two seconds. It was very different than the 70 by the way.

Trivia - the original stripe kit used at the factory was made by 3M. I owned a 71 SFGT which in fact had been a 3M company vehicle (believe it or not, but it was) and I also had acquired a set of stripes for the rear fender where the originals were damaged, and right on the backing it said 3M.

Now why would 3M have purchased a Sport Fury GT? Because their striping product was used on it, and when they sent someone to Chrysler to talk to them about providing a product etc. they sent someone in a) a Chrysler product and b) which had a 3M product on it. My car had a sticker in the glovebox saying '3M Car # 9122' and they were able to provide me with the whole history of the car while they owned it.
