So I finally got around to showing the real reason why Delmae is not on the road. As you can tell, the stub frame up front has caved in from where we had set cinder blocks under it. Also included are the rusted ends of the frame rails in the rear. I’m solely focused on the front stub frame for now. Who has replaced it? Who has one I can buy for an affordable price?

I welded new tails on the back sub frame of a fury. It was behind the cross member, just the last foot. Us up north have allot of rust to deal with. I'm sure I got a sub for it but we are a ways apart.

I’m in the Mid-Atlantic (Maryland). I don’t mind paying shipping. I just want to make sure the subframe will work with no modifications and is absolutely solid and perfect

You can use just about any stub from a ‘70-‘73 Cbody, except convertible, station wagon or Fury. There are several members here that have them for sale. I think @Wollfen might have one.

Alright. I’ll have to look. I am a bit weary, as I bought a gas tank back in January and paid way too much for what turned out to be a worse tank than what I had.

Yours is a '71. There is a thread on differences with '69 and '70 related to rubber isolation pads.

It’s easy. This is my convertible, so it is slightly different in the rear, but the concept is the same. First take the engine out and all the associated lines that run along the frame to the body (brakes, fuel, electrical, etc.).

Then build a support for the front if you plan on doing any work to the firewall.

Jack the car up and support it by the pinch weld under the door hinge pillar. Remove 8 bolts. Lower the frame and roll it away.

Lower the car on the support you built and you are done. This is a great time to clean and paint the new frame and do all the suspension work while it’s out if the car. Good luck.

Awesome. Thank you. My biggest challenge is a lack of garage to work it in. Between now and then I’ll be collecting some pick me ups for the 383 (headers, intake, cam, heads) through Facebook and Carlisle
